    Hi Mike. We bought a 1994 M3 convertible, for 2700, had mot and nearly full service history. We the broke it at Marlin's yard, with advice from Mark as we went. We then scavenged as much as possible from the car, leaving the chassis there for Mark to get scrapped on our behalf. We recouped around 2000 from the sale of the parts. I would say buy a complete car, and break it yourself, if you have the facilities to do so. We got all the bits we needed for under 1k, which I feel is a complete bargain. The performance is very pleasing to say the least, but for me it is the noise that really makes the decision to go M the right one. Electrics wise, I'm afraid we knew a friendly local wizard who did the majority of that for us. No work needed on the ECU or EWS that wasn't done at the time he marked his magic on the wiring. But I can check what was done if you like

    Hi Rob

    Although I have built my Cabrio with an M50B25TU, I am a little disappointed with the performance, and of course the mind turns to an S50 (M3).
    Did you buy just the engine/gearbox, or buy a complete donor car?
    The only M3 Engines I've seen for sale have been 2.5k upwards. However, someone has advised buying a crash damged at around 3k, and then selling the bits to be left with an egine/gearbox at little or no cost - is this possible?

    Secondly, did you have EWS delete on your ECU?
    Who did you use, and what do they charege?

    Hope you are still enjoying yours? have you gone through a set of back tyres yet?!
