Hi, realised the RIM comment will only refer to Kent but knowing how safety conscious you are I thought I would explain, it stands for Road Incident Management it policy in Kent following the tragic death of a PC at an RTC he was walking backwards placing cones and fell over into the live lane of traffic. Its a one day training course in house and although its a but of common road safety sense we can all become complacent so for once it was a good idea rare in our business. It basically placing ten cones out at a set distance along the edge of the road then and an arrow sign then walking back to a marked car with rear reds moving each cone out a foot or so diverting traffic out of the lane where there is an obstruction. With almost 30 years in and your sensible attitude to safety you probably already know this. Possibly not relevant if you drive a desk and I would not blame you if you do, stab vest were introduced but its more likely that you will get killed on a road. Tony.
