If I'd known you were going to Malvern I would have come and said hello, I'm only 2 miles from the show ground. The Mrs had dragged me out to a National trust place so didn't go this time !
Never mind , might see you at Stoneliegh.

ericholm 9th April 2017 18:07

Oh no! Last minute decison on my part, had a good run 100 miles each way and nothing fell off, that I know of atleast!

ned 10th April 2017 07:42

Great detail what an impressive car

lancelot link 10th April 2017 08:12

Good to see some footage of the car driving ...Its great to see static images of our cars , but you can't beat watching them actually driving ... I should imagine you got plenty of looks on your journey ...

smash 10th April 2017 10:43

Sounds really rorty when you rev it! :thumb: Quite surprised by how different your sounds to mine with essentially the same type of exhaust mod - my MAF is snafu so unplugged at the mo. wonder if it's anything to do with that?

swifty 10th April 2017 20:16

Like it, like it, like it, well done its a great example and i like your attention to detail. Seeing what can be achieved is an inspiration for anybody contemplating building a 250 swb rep.

You will never get tired of hearing that exhaust note.

DaveP 11th April 2017 08:11

Looks great - sounds wicked.

I like a good rort too.

Dave

ericholm 11th April 2017 09:12

Hi,

MPG worked out around 28 on the run (motorways mainly, cruising 70ish). However due to 'Rorting' the gauge moved much more quickly towards empty than my wallet appreciates :jaw:

Tunnels and wide bridges are the best, with built up towns with narrow streets coming in a close second...

Jaguartvr 11th April 2017 12:06

Couple of nice long tunnels on the top section of the M25!

smash 12th April 2017 07:05

I'm sure we'll find some tunnels on the way to Laon!

kevemm 12th April 2017 14:48

Laon

You wont need to guys the Sunday parade around the town on the cobbled tight streets is much better done it several times. K

ericholm 12th April 2017 19:15

More parts added...

I got a BMW blanking plate and boot handle part from Richard at Nubodi and fitted them, along with a Front strut brace and Faux Ferrari Model plate which I riveted into the door shut area (Nicked idead from Kevemm's car, sorry :icon_eek:). Also fitted original kick plates and fittings. Ohh and put a chrome strike plate on rear boot fitting for hook to come through nicely, again nicked the idea from Jeff H, sorry again.....:icon_eek:

Well done!

smash 14th April 2017 18:38

Ooo - love the kick covers - definitely want a set of them.. Where do you get them from?

ericholm 15th April 2017 15:31

Hi Scott,

Kick covers were on the Z3 BMW, standard issue, has roadster embossed in them in the chrome part, so guess mine was a Roadster intitally?

Had to dremmel part of the black plastic moulding away to make flush fit with the new rear part, but other than that, just push fit back into place on original fixings.

:high5:

Cheers.

smash 15th April 2017 16:27

Ah OK - I thought they looked original equipment. So my car would've had them before the kit was fitted - probably sold off with the other bits but I got a good kick back so no worries. They definitely look good so am keeping am eye out although appear to be rare on ebay.

roger_thelwell 25th April 2017 21:06

Hi,

Please could I ask where you bought the strike plate for the boot lock?

Many thanks,
Roger

ericholm 26th April 2017 07:26

Strike plate

Good morning Roger,

The Strike plate was a standard Chubb lock kit from B&Q, with an extended modified hole to allow the hook to pass through. :biggrin1:

Cheers!

Engine bay and Boot area

Hi All,

I have been tidying the enigne bay and carpeted the extended boot area part, here are some photos.

Iv'e always been a bit embarrassed showing someone under the hood as it was all a little 'untidy', but not now! :icon_biggrin::icon_biggrin::icon_biggrin:
