hmm, they look nice.

casamolino 31st July 2013 07:58

Looks good Nick , have you decided on tyres yet? there dont seem to be many V rated to choose from , i am looking at 185/65/15 V rated Pirelli
P6000 , Geoff .

WorldClassAccident 31st July 2013 23:06

I have left the wheels bare at the moment because of work getting in the way. Chris is going to sort out the tyres thankfully. I think he mentioned Falcon

WorldClassAccident 8th August 2013 08:52

You start with a perfectly respectable BMW Z3 and then just because you run one person over Chris gets all uppity and does this:

I didn't even ask for a Ferrari!

garyh 8th August 2013 14:32

Great the way it all un-bolts, and the engine is very neat looking. Are you narrowing rear wheel arches?

y cymro 8th August 2013 14:36

Chris really cracks on once a project starts. That looks good but what happened to the Maserati idea?

casamolino 8th August 2013 17:15

Nick the wheels look spot on , Geoff .

WorldClassAccident 8th August 2013 19:26

It will be a Marathi. The Ferrari was just lying around so he tried it for size

y cymro 8th August 2013 20:05

Getting the front wings lower will be a problem for Chris to overcome due to the high strut towers. Enlarging the bonnet opening so the wing edges run the outside of the towers will allow the wing top to be 40mm or so lower but it still looks high to me.

Finally on a computer that allows me to post pictures so here goes.

Take a standard kit : https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-w...o/IMG_3879.JPG

Take a large saw :https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-I...o/IMG_3880.JPG

Some gaffer tape : https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-s...o/IMG_3883.JPG

And you get the start of a car : https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-z...o/IMG_3882.JPG

The arse has to be made a bit fatter but I really rather like this shot : https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-W...o/IMG_3886.jpg

B E A Utiful :)

WorldClassAccident 21st August 2013 20:15

Wait until you see the frenched in rear lights and the pretty front end

AndyP57 22nd August 2013 10:13

Do you not think the wind might get under the Gaffer tape and peel it? I'd hate to see the rear valance fly off down the motorway. It may be better to use Speed tape as we used to repair aircraft skins with that

Seriously though, it does look like a good start to a unique project and we'll be following with interest

WorldClassAccident 22nd August 2013 15:57

That's not gaffer tape! It is prototype venting

garyh 22nd August 2013 16:05

Frenched in lights... like this?

That 250 body shell looks rather a good fit on the beemer. A possible alternative doner?
