Yes, if its too close when the kit is fitted thats the next option, my base car is on standard springs so I might get away with it.

Vent mesh done.

Fitting mesh to vents. http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/...0-10184733.jpg

tonyt 14th October 2012 15:34

All front vent mesh now in rear still to fit. http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/...0-14160032.jpg

Belt and braces, two of the captive bolts on the double skinned bonnet and boot lid were loose after transit, all now glued and set in place. http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/...0-14210254.jpg

I've now got a choice of grills, and for those of us on a low budget I have found black plastic mesh used on two of these grills, I have stainless mesh but I don't think it will look right on the rear vents, so I will use this. The mesh is lightweight its called gutter mesh and its £1 a roll at Poundland of all places, looks as good as ally mesh but will not corode. http://i1148.photobucket.com/albums/...0-20150107.jpg

Hi Tony. Grills are looking great, when are your panels going on?

Did you consider chicken wire, as this guy did? I kid you not....

Ha, have looked all sorts, best fun was the local scrap yard, but the Poundland stuff is good, I used MG steel mesh on the front three vents, its painted but will rust one day and the stanless on the round vents was £12 and it is heavy. Looks good but so does the plastic.

Just bought a dateless plate TUI and four numbers just over £20 with postage, plus £80 dvla fee.

Genuine 250 GTO, hence the badge, must be a very rich chicken farmer I guess...

Bought it on Ebay from duncanjoes he has others at £25 +£1.99 p&p, eg. LIG XXXX, ERZ XXXX and CXZ XXXX, there is a contact number so there may be other cheap ones, they also have more expensive ones, but I just wanted a cheap dateless plate, both my other cars have cherished plates bought direct from the DVLA years ago, even they have gone up in value.

Thanks again!
