Fog and reversing lights going to be hanging from the bottom.

Getting close to the end of the dry fit. Does anyone who's done the Mk2 have some pictures of the relief cuts on the front to fit the wings? There some of the rear wings on the Mk2 build thread but not the front.

Love the 1950's Austin lights (A55 - A90?), very period.

Will find some pics of the relief cuts in Mk2 front wings and post up for you.........

A50 - have to do some work on the bayonet adapters as their a bit rotten and have to replace to cotton braided wires. My son asked me what the funny stuff coming out of the lights was when we took them off the car at the scrappy, he'd never seen cotton braided cables before despite being in his 3rd year as an apprentice mechanic.

My 2nd ever modified car was a Wolseley 1500, lowered/roof chop etc, and all the cotton had rotted away leaving all black wires. It made for some very interesting wiring problems :faint:

101 uses for a broken step ladder:

No 1. Use it as additional supports for a the rear end of an MX250 convertible

But the you don't see it when the rear is fitted so who cares.

Managed to get the front seriously low. Might have to shim it out to raise it a bit.

I have searched for a better pic for the front wings, but this is the only one that shows them on the Mk2:

Thanks for looking Chris. Between this and the pics the German guys have posted I should be okay.

Finally bit the bullet and added the wing vents. Took some courage to cut the kit as I've never done anything like this before but quite pleased with the result.

Anyone know what colour this Ferrari is?

Found it - it's Rosso Barchetta. Ferrari still use it today - looks like I've found my colour.

WorldClassAccident 17th June 2013 08:45

My guess was RED

Amazing what you can do with the left over bits from a TVR! Looks great.

I agree with Nick, it's almost certainly a RED of some kind.

Stupid question of the day but is 13amp household electrical cable okay for extending the wiring for the lights?

landmannnn 23rd June 2013 11:43

Fine as long as it is multi-strand i.e. not the solid copper conductor. Make sure your joins are good, if possible solder and heatshrink.

WorldClassAccident 23rd June 2013 11:53

Normal household mains cable is single core. This isn't flexible so may snap in a car

fatbloke 23rd June 2013 12:31

Thanks guys, it was the multi-strand stuff I was thinking of. Time for a bit of soldering...

fatbloke 14th July 2013 20:25

Made some good progress this weekend. Tail lights re-wired with more appropriate cable and number plate lights fitted.

http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/...ps33d73fb3.jpg

Indicator/side lights fitted and head lights re-wired.

http://i1343.photobucket.com/albums/...ps19698088.jpg

Windscreen washers fitted.

Wings cut and screwed into place
