Tribute 250 SWB Hard Top
Hi chaps
Looking at a build for a Tribute 250 SWB hard top. What would you estimate build time to be up to sending to paint shop? |
robermd – Welcome to the forum.
If you keep scrolling down this page, you can follow the links to some SWB 250 build threads: http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/foru...?t=4623&page=2 That will give you some idea of how long people take to finish the car. Good luck, Paul. :) |
about two weeks if you take long dinners

Check jagtvr''s build thread a page or two back. He did pretty much everything except the paint spraying.

For a 250 swb convertible assuming you don't make any modifictions.
Strip Z3 and label wires 2 days Fit sills, rear boot ledge and main bonnet 2 days fit and gap bonnet 2 days fit & gap boot 2 days Fit & gap doors 5 days Wiring 2 days Finishing to paint standard.............forever! Since my build I know Chris has modified the bonnet so you dont have to do the slice and the doors have been modified so again should be much quicker than mine. It helps to order parts in a couple of weeks beforehand so you are not twiddling your thumbs wanting on bits. Do however be careful that you don't order them in too early if there is a fault they can be tricky to return. I bought most of my parts in from EBay, print of the item details and put them in a file so if there is a problem you know where you ordered it from. I was working outside so the weather can make a bug difference in how long things take, however if you look a Wozzy's rs200 build, if he can get that to paint stage in 10 days you should be able to finish a 250swb in a weekend. So pull yer finger out and get started. One thing I did find useful, the supermarket home delivery crates. They stack so don't take up too much room. Very useful to store and carry tools and parts from the garage to the project. |

I would ask Nubodi as they will be familiar with the very latest kits coming out of the moulds. It sounds like the worst of the bugs have been sorted for current kits. |
