Aha! Sorry if I sound a bit Alan Partridge, but I've just found what I'm looking for -

This is the one: http://r.ebay.com/qGVfnb

though I do like the one you found (It's a 5" though as opposed to the 5.5" Australian one)

The deal with Rene is currently based around turnkey cars as he has the network needed for German registration and is working to establish the delivery methodology (Buying a car through Rene would be costed as delivered and German Registered).

For kits alone, we are currently dealing direct from Ribble HQ as delivery would be no different than going through Rene.

It could, in future, expand to us holding a small stock in Cologne but that's a little way off as yet.

If you need a quote for delivery, don't hesitate to PM me with your address details and I'll get some numbers together.

Cheers

Mike, yes i took over to promote and push the marketintroduction & sales in
western europe. That means visiting major fairs and events, advertising in major special papers and online, demonstrator showing at several events, etc, etc. a long and a bid expensive way....
I just returned from the nederlands to promote and visit a kitcar-raceevent.
For kitssales it self, a bid early yet... We have to take the shippingcosts in consideration. So how many kits we need to ship in one shipment to cover the shippingcosts in a good relation to the kitprice?
That is a bid future marketingwork.
But you can never know....

Is this a supercharger which I see before me?

The turbo doth compress too much, methinks.

A forced! (induction) a forced! (induction), my kingdom for a forced! (induction).

Turbine own self be true.

And finally, given that these cars weigh little and go well enough with unstressed motors -

Can one desire too much of a good thing?

Rene 20th April 2014 09:30

No, its a normal aspirated one. Therefore no scopes at the wings on this car. For a compessor or turbo charged engine , you need a injected engine with a compression ratio from 8:1and a boost from 1,3 bars max. But for kitcarracing its needing a higher power/weight relation to compete in the given classes.

Cheers

Mister Towed 20th April 2014 10:03

Ahh, scoops.

Rene 20th April 2014 10:39

Yes, you are right, sometimes my fingers are to thick at my mobile... (-;...
But in addition, you need by a significant power increase a lot more to improve. Brakes, suspension, drivetrain, airintakecooling e.t.c.
to handle it serious.
Thats the reason why in the mutation from 1952 to 1954 every car was different...

Cheers

Remember driving a mates 750 special many moons ago, went like a scalded cat but stopping distance could be measured in miles, it was an excellent car too learn about carrying speed through the corners as by the time you thought about using the brakes it was waaaayyy too late!
I also commented at the time that the handling in the corners was erm interesting the reply was "that'll be the chassis twisting" gulp!

Yes Mark, thats one reason why we introduced
the pilot/cordite II concept with improved strengh as further developed supportframeconcept direct glased on the carbody.
Thats also in negotiating for the silverstone.

AndyP57 9th May 2014 21:38

Good to hear it got there safely Rene. After the experience with the Transport guy we were worried. Hope he hasn't done any damage on the way. Keep us informed as to the work needed to get German registration. The paperwork is on its way to you.

Rene 9th May 2014 22:00

We had no troubles with him, he was just in time...We are working professional with a hydraulik lifter to lift up the car to the ground. It hase just take few minutes. Regards Rene

Hi all. sorry if I've been out of touch recently but I was hit by a bug that put me in bed for a while. just about up and 'at it' now so will be in the workshop again after the weekend and I hope all that have been trying to get in touch have been contacted now (If not, please bear with me and i will do what I can to catch up).

As a 'heads up' we will soon be selling a Navigator which is already bonded on to a Spitfire chassis, cockpit lined and dash ready to take standard Spitfire instruments. It has a new 'Langys' loom already fitted along with Landrover rear lights and 7" headlight buckets . Nicely Paint finished in Red and has a V5. No engine currently fitted. I'm looking for sensible offers by PM but bear in mind that the kit with frame would be £1449, Paint at £1000, loom and electrics at around £150 and it comes with a good condition Chassis and running gear. Ask any questions by PM and I'm sure a deal can be made before I have to use a 'well known auction site'. My guess would be that it would be possible to finish in around 4 weeks. The reason I'm not finishing it here? I'm already part way through building 4 cars and time is precious.

Thanks guys. More news once I'm back in the saddle

Paul L 23rd May 2014 14:58

Andy - Glad to hear you are feeling better.

The unfinished Navigator kit sounds like a great way for someone to get one of these cars on the road.

Although I did have a quiet sob to myself when I read this...

Cheers, Paul. :)

PS
Did you get a chance to take some extra photos of #274 before it left the country?

Hints & tips on fitting Langys Rebel wiring looms

Hi Andy & Andy,

I noticed that earlier in this thread you said you use the Langys 'Rebel' eight way wiring loom as a standard component in all your turnkey builds. I guess you must have quite a lot of experience in installing them by now, just wondered if you have any advice you could pass on to some of us first time wirers? Clearly There are some differences between the US requirements and ours in the UK, what kind of issues do you face each time and how do you overcome them? Be great to hear your experiences.
Cheers

Paul D
