Steering wheel airbag

Hi guys
I am sure I read a thread on here about fitting a wooden steering wheel and fooling the airbag sensor with use of some resistors. I have searched and can’t find the thread😩
Mine in an early car with o e stage airbag. What resistance do I need to put in series between the two airbag wires
Thanks

You can also just pull the airbag sensor box from behind the centre console. Pictures from mine on here somewhere

I wrongly thought that I had 2 airbags. But now I understand that the passenger side doesn’t have one. Now I’ve built the dash so can’t get to the module so will do the resistor solution.

It's worth joining the Z Register for this sort of stuff as well.

Hi Hugh,
3.3 ohm resistor for each squib that you need to isolate. I had a Two stage airbag so needed to go across the two circuits, two resistors. Check your wires coming out and trace to work out horn and airbag/s as appropriate.
Hope this helps. Cheers.
Oh and remember that faults in the SRS system will hard fault until reset by a scan tool. (Light will stay on even if picking up resistor until cleared)

Thank you that’s great

You'll need air bag warning reset tool b800 cheap enough on eBay. I would put a fuse in line with resister.

What size fuse would you use?
Thanks

Ah! Got me there lol I just bought pre built version off eBay which had a fuse as part of it. Just checked on eBay- it was a yellow sealed unit with 2 amp fuse. Fuse is there to Stop resistor blowing if the airbag is triggered

Here is a picture of mine when I was remodelling the centre console.

The airbag sensor box was about where the heater dial is in the picture
