Engine

Hi all

Right now a bit of info! I'm looking for a small compact v6 engine/gearbox
for another up coming build. Looking for around 350bhp. mid engine car.
I have looked at the audi v6 biturbo but know nothing about them.
Longitudinal fitment.any help appreciated

Just a rough idea - Honda Legend V6 longitudinal front wheel drive.

Honda Legend V6 etc

The V6 was powerful and compact. The transmission was automatic only though as far as I know. The axle is across the engine rather than the usual position in the bell housing which could make for a shorter installation.

Of course it's a 180 degree "V" 6 but the Porsche Boxster and gearbox is a great engine:

And the 5 speed gearbox is direct bolt-on for most Audi motors too including the V8

In answer to your original question, here's a youtube video of a modified Audi v6 turbo - as fitted to a Boxster gearbox and installed in a Boxster. The link to the build diary follows.

Hi
The guy with the audi v6 powered porsche knows his stuff! Why do these guys get the know how? I've been looking at gearboxes to mate to my granada 24 v6 cosworth and I can't find anything! I want to use a mondeo st220 box as used on the noble m12 but have some people telling me to go for the diesel version (handles more torque)and other the petrol version as they have more upgrades available!
The engine was a brand new crate motor so really want to use it and at the moment have the deon set up but bolted to and escort rs 200 with a limited slip diff. I'm not sure this is up to the job as I'm after a bit more power.
