Well 12 months has come and past since I started work on the car, in the last month or so seems I have gone more back than forward. Taken out all the floors inner wheel arches, but this has allowed me to move out the rear wheel arches so they are parallel to the wheels now. Re fitted the floors and made a boot space to go behind the seats will have a fold down door fitted latter. I have also made a role cage this will help with seat belt mounts etc.Attachment 5804

Been slow progress over the last month but have fitted the top to the front bulkhead and have installed the steering column, from a Corsa and other bits all works nice and smoothly and have fitted the brake pedal and brake master cylinder. Had to move this over to miss the steering column motor, as it is going to be an automatic gear box I linked the brake and clutch pedal together and moved it over enough, small steps but going forwards.Attachment 5839

This makes me feel humble. Respect!

Thank you much appreciated. I am trying to do this build as best I can on a small budget so having to pick up a mix and match of parts, so takes a bit to think out side of the box to get round problems. But get there in the end if not on the first try.

I have always had to work on ' The object is no expense' principle. Time richer cash poorer. I don't think it is possible to get it right the first time because when I have I immediately find a better way.
|
Yes always works that way hindsight is wonderful wish I had some.

Door frames look great, as a novice welder, i am envious.
|
Very well done!
|
Thank you I am only learning to weld as I go along I got a welder when I started this project had a friend weld up the chassis and all the important bits and I have played and done bits as I have gone along.

Looking good. A minor point, would having restraint straps for the prop shaft be a good idea?
|
Yes I will be putting a prop catcher in the ducting is just to give me an idea of size so I can mock up the tunnel, as the car is quite narrow I would like to keep it as small as possible thanks

Hi had a tough couple of months so not much done, but have manage to join the two halves of the bonnet together, door frames hung and have made some side vents to help cool the engine bay. Hope to start the door skins soon if I can find some time.Attachment 6087
