Design process-MEV-Rocket body styling
I've been a fan of the Atom for quite some time, and always thought that a more affordable kit should be designed.
I think the new Mev rocket is the closest to this concept, and just for fun, I thought about creating a few body shapes over its chassis.: http://www.mevltd.co.uk/rocketad.htm Who knows maybe I could try to build it someday...:) Would like to have your design feedback, on the various sketches I will be posting in the future. Thanks in advance for your comments and critique Cheers Italo |
First very rough sketch based on the Rocket, what do you guys think ?
need your feedback.:) http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...rie/img782.jpg |
As usual, looks great.
How about a smaller screen / wind deflector? Saying that, the front end looks spot on! Those lights look like they would work really well. I like the idea of an inner panel in the driver / passenger compartment, showing the 'frame' off. When can I have one? |

Thanks Mark, yes you can have a smaller wind deflector/screen, and for the order.....we can work on that.:) |
I'd also like smaller wheels - say 15" front and 17" rear????

What options or other models do you think this chassis can take?, I was thinking of a step in Coupe, what do you think? I need everyones feedback for another design sketch.:) |
What about fully enclosed bodywork, does the front lend itself to an enclosed F1 type front end something on the lines of the Enzo?

Italo, glad to see the copyright logo on your design.

Italo
I gotta say, I prefer the first one. A less complicated screen & I reckon it would be a winner. I mentioned the (C) following the post on a certain other site. My honest thought was 'the cheeky bar steward' |
cut down windscreen and different side paneling....

I like the look of the 2nd one (green one) over the others. Looks more purposeful.

It will be more expensive to manufacture..... |
another old sketch of mine that uses the same chassis layout as the rocket

Front and top grills look great and will allow down force to be introduced at the front. Would you invisage the doors to open including part of the rear fin.
Keep up the good work who knows I may pluck up the bottle to build one one day and test the market but I could do with a bit more feed back if anyone out there is willing to assist in my market research. Kind regards Stig Mills |
Another very rough sketch, Atom meets Seven..., what do you guys think? feedback , comments , critique......:)

Not doing it for me that one Italo, seems like 3 seperate pods but with no flow between them. :peep:

First look, I though 'cute frog'.
No idea why, but it is certainly my least favourite. Sorry mate. |
