Hmm, good find. I like that
|
Me too
I bet it would look great in Andy's rusty paint That gives me an idea - Lots of Reliants get their body removed to become trikes. Cheap fibreglass body to chop dump it on a locost chassis |
Like the colour. Would have it in gloss easier to wipe clean. Like the roofline as well. Its where they say the modern fiesta gets its window shape from. The diagonal line pointing to the rear screen
|
Surely this
http://www.mad4wheels.com/webpics/hi...n_001_7275.jpg https://s32.postimg.org/5w1aa2tmt/SAI_9852.jpgpic host Can be made for mx5? It has a similar windscreen and I can see some of the mx250 kit being re used to form this |
I agree maz mx250 could be modified quite easily to get this shape
|
The shineyness is also giving me naughty thoughts about chrome wrapping my mx250.......nah bad idea?
|
Maybe a mk2 would be better that or a z3. The lighting area is limited on the mk1 as I found out with the zag build
|
Not sure how feasible this would be, but could Chris create a conversion of a Jaguar XJS along the lines of the Eventer estate ('shooting brake'). Loads of XJS' around to use as donor cars.

I have been told by everyone and his dog that chrome wrapping the 250 would be impossible due to the complex curves  I would have mine done in a heart beat if I could. :yo: |
From what I have read.....some chrome wraps have more stretch than others? I have seen a cobra kit car chrome wrapped and surely they are equally complex?
From what I have seen, the trick is to have joins in certain places such as using stripes to divide the car in two. And all the recess like headlights vents etc have to be separate but invisible joins using knifeless tape. |
I have tried the cheap chrome wrap as found on ebay. It has very little stretch even when heated up. Heat it too much and stretch it, it pulls apart leaving a grey finish. There is some American stuff called Conform Chrome I think, which will work but costs a fortune.

How about a Fiat Dino Spyder on an MX5? The dimensions of both cars are very close, the wheelbase only 15mm longer on the Fiat.

I hadn't seen that wow! thats exactly what I had in mind see I can't be the only ingenious out there! |
From my experience of the headlight headache it might be best to try it on a mk2. The doors are different but gives you space to put lights where you need them. With the fiat Dino idea that is.
|
If you think about it if the Ferrari 360,430,458 didn't have their engine in the back they would be hatchbacks too. The maserati reminded of this fact.
|
I was thinking the other day what would an Alfa gtv look like with a Chevrolet Camaro roofline from the same era look using the gtv swage line down.
