Okay - It is not strictly a Tribute - or a car but it is a 2 month build

You know what it is like, the nights start to draw in and Downton Abbey vies with Strictly Come Dancing for your wife's attention so you get time to think.

I wonder if I could get away with building a shed...

a few beers ...

I wonder if I could get a sauna in there too...

what about a hot tub as well...

and before you know it you have sketched this
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-C...bstructure.png

and are wondering about bench positions in this
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-2...5-no/sauna.png

so the next morning you wander into the garden and look behind the garage at all that wasted space and lay out a few bots of concrete to get a sense of size
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-E...922_101118.jpg

A quick bit of spade work and some concrete blocks
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-G...927_163807.jpg

and a call to the wood store and it looks a bit bigger than you first thought
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-P...928_174305.jpg

A good shed with sauna and hot tub need power, lots of power
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/pQ...Q=w969-h545-no

Drop the tub in over the top of the garage
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-O...023_103335.jpg

Anothe rposting for the impressive crane driver
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-A...500-MOTION.gif

Now the tubs in place we can put up the walls
https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/qJ...w396-h222-p-no

and roof

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-G...027_160805.jpg

Starts to take shape, protected by green vapour guard
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-I...102_145514.jpg

Glass in place an water tight
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9...111_161057.jpg

Please with the sliding doors to open it up when we want to
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-b...111_161156.jpg

Sauna in
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/--...130_162608.jpg

and happy hydrotherapy for me

NICE!!!!

If only I didn't have that rusty lump of German camper lined up as my next project :)

Mitchelkitman 30th November 2014 17:33

Looks good - but I'm sure I saw that gate pier move in the video when the lorry went through :bounce:

Tribute Automotive 30th November 2014 19:30

Very good Nick. I guess you are in it now :bathbaby:

landmannnn 30th November 2014 19:51

Are you sure you need that sized cable? If so it's going to cost a fortune to run.

10mm - 50A ???

WorldClassAccident 30th November 2014 21:53

25MM good for 124

32 amp sauna
32 amp Tub

Plus make the garage safe which is currently tripping if I use lights, drill and a heater

Danny_HUFC 1st December 2014 08:26

Dont quote me but im sure a 25mm 3 core swa cables only takes 100 amps (or it did when i was in college) thats with an ambiant temperature of about 25-35 degrees C......

Danny_HUFC 1st December 2014 08:29

I also wired a hot tub for a friend a few month back and was shocked when I seen it pulled 40 amp!

WorldClassAccident 1st December 2014 11:06

The house supply is only ~70amp so the cable from the house to the cabin is bigger than the feed into the house. No point going bigger and 100amp (124amp quoted) should be sufficient given that most the time the tub is just ticking over drawing not much more than a light bulb.

I had no idea. There must be a sreious water heater in there.

Mister Towed 1st December 2014 17:37

Has anyone patented a hot-tub that infuses the water with carrotene yet? There'd be a massive market in my native Essex.

WorldClassAccident 1st December 2014 17:40

The one bit of advice I was given by the salesman was do NOT ALLOW ANYONE WITH FAKE TAN near the tub. He then told me that most 'easy' girls wore fake tan and that MY WIFE WOULD FIND OUT.

I bought the thing as a hydrotherapy pool to aid my knackered ankle. I have no idea what he thought I wanted it for

Scottie22 1st December 2014 17:43

Sticking your foot in a bowl of hot water would have been a little more cost effective! :-)

Scottie22 1st December 2014 17:46

Hey landmannn, a 10 kilowatt electric shower uses 40 amps, and that's not considered really excessive!

No, no NO!

All of the above would leave you looking decidedly brown, when the desired tone is extreme orange. Obviously.

Scottie22 1st December 2014 21:37

They HAVE to look like they've been TANGOED!

seanick 1st December 2014 22:39

I presume now your bollocks must be boiled. Time to put in the sprouts for Christmas!
