woohooo got me drive shafts
After much weighting i have finaly got me :icon_biggrin: drive shafts :icon_biggrin: for the type-r kit
Lets hope they fit Jerry |
Hi Jerry, Can I ask how much Marlin charged you for the drive shafts as I have them to buy soon and also from a previous post is there any chance you could list the items needed from the civic for me as I got the impression that there is more than I thought?
Ps I contacted Marlin about the civic cd you mentioned and only thing Terry knew about and sent me was a Rover manual! Is it a separate cd to the build pictures cd? Many thanks Craig |
Craig
Price of drive shafts £????? i am weighting for them to sort the price out terrys thinks they will be about £170 each As for the civic disc you will need to speck to mark!! IF you get no joy from him i can probly do a copy and send it As to the civic bits that are required you will need Engine Gearbox Starter motor Altinator water pump Half shaft inboard cv's ECU Lamda Probs 2 off Try and get the complete wiring for they Engine wiring loom up to ecu The third plug that come's out of the ECU and go's to the internal wiring system A non air con drive belt I think that is all of it  :bolt: Jerry |
Cheers Jerry!
I think that the third plug going to the rest of the wiring loom is a problem for me as I don't have this and the lamda sensors I don't really know anything about these or where they are located....think it's something to do with exhaust!! The rest of the items came with the engine! Craig |
The lamda probs are located either side of the cat
I dont have the third plug either but a mate has made me one by soldering wires to the ecu and putting a muiti pin plug on the end of them :whoo: you will still need to get a shorter belt for the water pump unless you are going to fit the air con witch would be bloody hard to do :eusa_wall: |
No I have no intention of fitting air con build will take long enough as it is, I had presumed that the engine I have was not fitted with air con!
I take it that the belt is available from Honda for type r engine without air con? Do I need to take anything of the engine then, or is it just that the belt on the engine was connected to pump before removal? With the lamda sensors I take it that a couple of inches of wire from each one will be enough? Regards Craig |
As far as i am awear all civic type r's had air con
The only thing you need to take off is the air con pump The belt is avalible from honda The lamda probs the more wire the better if possible get them with the plugs on the end They are avalilble from honda but they want £250 each for them :icon_eek: I managed to get some second hand ones for £50 each but mine aint got the plugs so matching the wires is an issue but i think i have solved that but wont no untill the engine is started :eusa_wall: Regards Jerry |
Cheers Jerry!
Thats a big help I will try to source some used ones with plugs I think! If I look at the side of the engine at the belt there are 5 cogs the belt travels around I presume that the second one up with the 5-6 holes in is the air con pump? Craig |
Jerry I looked at my ecu for the first time since I bought it today and I have the third plug going to the rest of the wiring with about 8 inches of wiring connected to it so thats a bit of a result!
Craig |
Jerry, good to hear you've got the driveshafts...... hopefully that means mine will turn up soon!
As for the a/c. I test drove a Civic Type-R when they first came out, and one of the criticisms I made, was that the cars didn't come with A/C as standard - it being a £1000 *dealer* fit upgrade. It might be different with the later phase 2 cars, but I'm certain that orginally the car didn't have A/C. |
That would make sence as the non a/c belt is redaily avalible
:whoo: Result on your third plug Craig:whoo: a/c pump cant remember what it looks like seen as i took it off first job and stuck it on a box someware  allthough your engine may have come from an non a/c car as john pointed out Jerry |
If Fitted the Aircon Pump sat right at the bottom of the engine underneath the water pump, hope that helps..
Jerry has a spare one if you know anyone who needs one... |
Cheers, I must not have one then which is another bonus!
