Rover Column Stalks

I believe somebody said that some other Rover column stalks were interchangeable with the 800/827 ones? Might have been MGF?
Does anyone know?

I'm not keen on the design of the 800/827 ones so keen to find an alternative.

Cheers

depends which stalks you're using, MK1 or MK2
Ive looked into this and unforunately for most options it means considerable amounts of wiring changes :(

It's all Mk1 - to fit with the loom that Phantom's electrician made. Seemingly all the "factory" looms are based on Mk1 wiring.

Does anyone know if the Mk2 stalks are plug compatible with the Mk1 ones? The Mk2 certainly look better!

mk2b are the same stalks, mk2c are completly different, not only will they not fit electrically, but the stalks also wont fit into the mounts on the column.

Are you saying that early Mk2's have plug compatible stalks? Are they round stalks rather than the "paddle shaped" early ones (as they look to be on my electronic parts catalogue)?
Thanks for the help!

the only ones that will be a straight fit into your loom are the paddle type ones.
The round ones iirc were bmw loom type ones, which you wont be able to use, the connector is completly different. I think ive got a mk1b and mk1c wiring manual here so i can check just how different the wiring is for you, but from what i recall, its really not worth it.

Thanks, mate.

By the sounds of it, I may as well stick with the "easy" option and keep the paddle style ones.

Maybe I'll hide them behind a nice steering wheel!

Cheers
