That's great ....The only thing that jumps out after quickly scanning your pics , is the seats ...I'd change them , they look large and possibly put you in a high driving position .......but its not my car ....so feel free to ignore that !
When I worked at a Classic car sales and restoration place in the 80's we had an EB there , it had a wind deflector style screen and looked a bit earlier in styling to this one ? Ford Pop or even Model Y based from memory as most of these early cars were ... Have you seen the Forgotten Fiberglass website ? Absolutely amazing stuff on there ... |
I agree about the seats. I needed seats that were fully adjustable so my wife could drive the car, hence the modern ones.

I HAVEN'T SEEN ONE OF THOSE AXLES BEFORE ...I am no expert on old Specials but have worked on a few over the years , Ashley , Rochdale etc.
...I think it was Bellamy that used to cut a ford Pop I beam in half and make the two sides pivot independently using a coil over , very similar to this ... You have got to love this early pioneering stuff ..... |
Les Ballamy was doing that from the30's to th60's using the transverse springs on everything from ford pops to Bugattis and Bentleys. If you are interested there is a biography of him by Tony Russell 'Out in front' The Leslie Ballamy story.
It is a bit sad being fascinated by some of the 50's specials but there we are. Dave |
