Great use of a balti dish for the steering wheel.

My donor Spitfire came with a pair of brand new leather seat covers in a similar colour to yours.
( I was gutted when I found out they wouldn't fit. )

If you want to draw the eye away from the off set seats, I'd suggest a matching leather "in fill" panel between the seat bases.
( With cut outs for the seat belt straps & handbrake. )

You would then be left with something that looked like a bench seat across both the top & bottom.

Just a thought, Paul. :)

Yeah good idea - I was thinking something like that might work :)

Paul, not sure if you have seen this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1975-Ferra...p2056016.l4276

Yeah, I actually went to have a look at it to see what it was like - I think he's definitely overcharging for it - the paint has cracks and a couple of worn areas on it and the rear wing is not fitted very straight.
And it really put me off painting mine rosso corsa red! ;)

cheers for asking -

I've been away for a month in Thailand - I came back expecting it to be almost done and they haven't really done that much, apart from fitting the rear wheel arches,
I'm hoping now I'm back and can hassle them a bit that they will get on it again.
I think it's basically just the front arches and frames to be made, and then it's almost ready for paint prep.

I'm not sure whether to try and paint it myself or fork out the money and get it done professionally or not.

There's an argument that many vintage looking cars don't have great looking paint - due to the patina and scuffs etc that they have attained over their life - so maybe doing it myself may look a bit more 'vintage' than getting a proper pro job done - undecided

I am looking to get one in the next few weeks, can't wait to see yours.

This is my inspiration

Thanks,
Yeah, me too - I'm hoping it might have an MOT by the end of next week - but still undecided about which colour to go for though - or who's going to paint it

Car photographer 28th February 2016 20:20

Ok, so got it outside for the first time today to take a few progress pics -
wheel arches are on, next is getting rear indicator brackets fitted, and to fit a replacement alternator.

I think we have an issue with the exhaust though - it may need another box fitting to create some backpressure - apparently some of the fuel may not be burning properly - the mechanic thinks that more back pressure could solve it - any thoughts on this?

Anyway - here's a few pics -
