Heater valve cable.

Hi guys.

I've mounted my heater valve on the ally bulkhead as per marlin's picture. And as suggested, the green cable is too short. Marlin said there making some up. But how has everyone else done there's and where does it enter the bulkhead to reach the heater controls?

I entered mine just to the right of the heater matrix. But I think the angle to the heater controls is too tight a turn. Or the two green outer's are not working as they should. As it closes the valve, but does not push the valve lever back again.

hi

I found a couple of options.

A lot of motercycle shops sell lengths of th outer style cable, or the bonnet release outer cable from a ford cars is good.

for the inner wire, model shops sell long lengths of stainless wire that can be inserted in the outer and bent to make the end fittings

cant really give advice on the routing as there seam to be a more than one type. but i did mine coming in from the left thru a larger hole with a gromet to allow it to pass thru the bulkhead at about a 20 degree angle so the cable did not have a severe bend in it.

hope that helps regards

Hi,

I've used a bonnet release cable from a scrapyard (not sure off what car)...works well.

The route I've taken is to use one of the holes already in the pedal box assy and this takes the cable hard up behind the brake servo and then gently down to the valve. Works smoothly.
