More good stuff:
Complete refurbished rear beam with camber compensation and extra track reduction on top of the Z4 hub. Nicely tucked in now. Also nicked another 6mm at front by losing adaptor spacer and machining hub for wheel clearance. |
I had the same problem. My doorskins were bonded on before the window frames were installed. I had to cut great holes in the doorskins to fit them and repair the FRP. Friend's helping while I was away.

Even more good stuff.
Nardi Anni 60 fitted and Grassbank stalk ends. |
That interior is simply beautiful! Well done.

I'm not sure about cutting holes in the door skins! I think if I was going to do that I'd go electric window conversion. And I've already spent 10k on top of the car purchase price....
|
I wound up de-bonding the entire body!
not so hard to cut a rectangular hole in the skin. Save the cut out part. do your windows, Taper the edges of both the cutouts and remaining doorskin and re-glass. Finish bodywork is all. BTW, I also had to do same for door handles and fuel filler recess. De-bonding the body was fun! Thanks for the "friend's help. |
That looks stunning http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/foru...3&d=1597945513

@lucky - can you recommend a chrome wrap brand for me to try? Nothing to lose!
|
The last time I bought some was around two years ago from ebay, don't remember the brand. I did check the wording in the advert to make sure it would have some "stretch". Some of the cheaper stuff won't stretch without damaging the chrome finish, it sort of parts company and goes grey and wrinkley !
|
I know the feeling!
I'll have a for eBay surf. Cheers. |

Hmm, doesn't look much better than the other wonder paints on the market. They never simply paint a flat surface to show you how reflective it is do they ! Most of these paints don't work in wet conditions, they just turn grey very quickly.

No idea to be honest popped up somewhere thought I’d post it
Did you see the norton chrome paint a couple of years ago?? |
I've just seen a new chrome paint brush on that looks amazing but I'd guess is not durable enough for exterior use. Bizarrely best results via brushing on!
I't called Mirror by Culture Hustle - impressive... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3j4BR6MuLro |
