Prova suspension parts search

Hi guys,

Just joined the forum. I'm looking for some parts for the rear suspension on a Prova Designs Miura kit.
On the rear suspension, there is an adjustable length link to allow the alignment of the rear wheels to be adjusted. This consists of two rod ends (one bolted to the lower wishbone, the other bolted to the hub carrier/shock absorber) that screw into a 50mm long length of hexagonal bar.
The hex bar is tapped with a RH thread from one end and a LH thread from the other, hence the distance between the end bolts can be varied by rotating the hex bar, hence adjusting the wheel alignment.
I can find the rod ends easy enough, but can anyone suggest a supplier of the hex bar item?
The reason I'm changing it is I've been told the 1/2" x 1/2" rod end can break under serious driving, so should be replaced with a 1/2"x 5/8" rod end.

Cheers guys.

Hi Linz

You have a Prova Miura? :jaw:

There are not many of those about!

Any chance of some pictures?

I presume you are talking about something like this which I have arrowed in the picture. (I realize it's on the steering but it's the only picture I could find on t'internet)

Looks like the hexagonal bit is there just so you can get a spanner onto it to rotate it to adjust the wheel alignment.

Could you not use a round bar threaded at both ends with a nut welded on half way along for the spanner.

Just found these which may do the trick for you if the thread is the correct size

Hi Neil,

Excellent link thank you. If I use one of the jackscrews and a pair of female rod ends it should do the job well. I'll see if I can get a couple of photos up later.

Once again thanks for the help.

Linz.

Hi,

have a look on http://lamboreplica.co.uk/ and do a search or post your question on there.

If no joy have a chat with Sam Harpa at Regal Classics, he is building a Muira Replica on a Porsche Boxster chassis, he may be able to help.

Also, you could speak to Dave or Clive at DC Supercars who build replica Countach / Diable / Merci reps - veryt knowledgable

Hi Linz, hopefully you have sorted this now but if not I purchased rod ends and turnbuckle linkages from mcgillmotorsports,

Hi John,

Got it sorted in the end. I bought some larger eye bolts, left and right handed thread, then had a hex bar drilled and threaded to suit.

Cheers

Linz
