I was not too worried about the style of mesh as it seems to vary on the real Ferrari's. It will be painted black so will disappear.

You seem to have a problem with me (Ian A), I don't know why? Ive explained sooo many times its not a "replica", it could never be as Ferrari never made a convertible 250 SWB anyway. Its a lookalike! Get over it!

No problem, Richard !!! Just saw the word "replicate" and got confused over what was actually original. Look-alike is OK too.

Just had a call from a customer and he was asking about some of the builds we had done over the years but he particularly liked the Humvee lookalike based on a Land Rover discovery. It took seven weeks along side usual build stuff but was fun. It was shown in 4 separate magazines

Just okay'd a deal with Car Mechanics and Kitcar magazine to build a Z3 250 SWB Koupe as a feature car in 2016. It will cover 8-12 months of issues and will be at the NEC classic car show at the end of the year. This will be great publicity for us, Tribute and the kitcar industry.

It will be of a high standard and incorporate all we have learnt building these cars to date. Unfortunately it will not be for sale as it will be joining my collection (27 vehicles at present).

That's excellent - you gonna use those cheap handles? :p

ned 9th January 2016 11:23

congratulations Richard i will look forward to reading the feature shame it won't be for sale though

Googling found out that the name Amaranto has been used by Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and others. The PPG site is down at the moment for maintenance but the Alfabb forum has a post which states this colour was used on Alfa Montreals in the 70s. It is a maroon colour, details from that site are:
Paint Name (I/E/F/D): Rosso Amaranto / Marroon / Rouge Amarante / Weinrot
Paint Code(s): AR-308, AR-509
(Ditzler/PPG #50772 / DuPont #8771)

Thanks for that I've got a company nearby that can come up with a can. Is it best sprayed on a sheet of primed metal to see the finished colour along with a few costs of laquer. Any idea of cost to spray this on a car, say the size of an mx5

zagmad 9th January 2016 14:05

If I was going to have my wheels sprayed grey what would you recommend. I've been looking at an Audi colour L8AU Granit/titanium grey.

I normally trundle up to the NEC for the Autumn show. Hope to see you/the car there.

Nubodi Automotive 9th January 2016 18:07

'Trundle'?? Ive seen you drive, not how I would describe it! Hurtle maybe?

WorldClassAccident 10th January 2016 10:26

9 points mean I will be 'trundling' for a while :-(

Danny_HUFC 10th January 2016 11:49

You should move abroad. If you get flashed in a UK car in spain they dont even bother sending you a letter for a fine, nver mind points. Even if you get cought by a police man, the fine you pay is on the spot and generally what you have on you at the time!

Only three more and you'll be walking. Well, limping... :ban:

WorldClassAccident 10th January 2016 17:14

Blue badge and no other drivers in the family. Might get a special case exception to the ToT ban. Not planning on finding out though

Nubodi Automotive 14th January 2016 07:50

Geoff is coming to collect his car today so I thought I would post some pictures for you all to see. With spots, interior and wire wheels it will get there.
