hi there i see your chassis has no outriggers on it i have full new old stock set if you would be intrested in buying them? chap68.

garyh 8th May 2012 20:35

Thanks for all your advice. I will try and clean bezels, i think its just rubber that has turned to liquid? I may just leave the leaf out and be a bit lower, and i have already bought a complete set of outriggers, but thanks for the offer.

Just found this, there are some great interior shots.

Hmm, nice, but $118,000 when you could have twenty Sammio's for that? I don't think so.

garyh 10th May 2012 12:33

I would still rather build one, than buy one! But as i said there are some nice ideas there. Any more pics yet on your thread, T?

Mister Towed 10th May 2012 12:48

Afraid not, work's getting in the way at the moment. Progress should be resumed after the weekend.

davecymru 10th May 2012 12:52

That Lucra is very pretty, and there are certainly a few ideas that can be re-used on a Sammio :)

Based on recent observations from Stoneleigh I'll duck my head after saying this, but i even like the amount of dials and switches they have! :bolt:

garyh 10th May 2012 12:55

Oh well, we're nearly there once again... it does come round, quickly. This weekend will be Allotment, painting and car.

Here's Gary and Mike when they were younger

Good find Gary! Lovely images, my favorites were these!

I love this speedo!! It gives the car that proper 'period' look :becky:

http://i1076.photobucket.com/albums/...03at171128.png

Gorgeous looking car!! I like the idea of the left headlight surround and the bonnet scoop!

http://i1076.photobucket.com/albums/...10at143325.png

Love the idea of these leather straps on the bonnet!

Christ Garry and Mike have been very busy over the last few decades  !

garyh 10th May 2012 15:13

Thanks Andy, i will be copying the dash to a certain extent... also a boot lid with those catches.

davecymru 10th May 2012 15:38

Sticking with my current keeping-things-simple theme, i especially like the block of wood as a foot mat so that the driver can reach the high up pedals! :)

garyh 10th May 2012 15:41

Arrgh yes... also the P155 pot disguised as an oil can!

garyh 13th May 2012 20:23

I started to shotblast some parts today, and strip down the head.

Question
The rockers look worn? but can any of the mechanics out there tell me if they are too worn!
http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/...4/IMG_6688.jpg
Should i replace the whole rocker assembly as i am reuilding the head.
http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/...4/IMG_6690.jpg

Viatron 14th May 2012 05:30

second rocker from the left is fubar'ed! i think a new rocker assembley would be on the cards if it was my build, if that one has got that bad the hardened surface of the others will not be far behind so changing just the one would imho be a false economy

garyh 14th May 2012 08:06

Excellent reply, I've seen that Canleys do a complete assembly, thanks, V.

Viatron 14th May 2012 08:15

Yep spotted those and the price is good too for a complete assembly

Mister Towed 14th May 2012 09:08

Anybody know if they do higher ratio rockers for a little extra lift?
