Something different...

http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...ps72c55adb.jpg

hello chaps, Mark here from Powerslide Rides, please bear with a shameless plug just for a minute. We build these sandrails and other vehicles to support our charity, we have disabled kids, unemployed youths, and young apprentices help us in the construction, then we get them out in the cars. This summer we teamed up with The Prince's Trust and built a disabled workshop unit and classroom too, so its fun engineering with a good cause at heart.

We sell a lot of the frames to Holland, mosty because they bolt straight to a standard floorpan, so there is no IVA (the dutch equilivant is a nightmare)

We have a limited time offer on, as this is our closed season for events so we are just building at the moment.

These frames, ready to bolt straight to a beetle chassis have been reduced from £2000 to £795. Build time if you have unbolted the body already is about 2 hours! All that then remains is wiring unless you retain the beetle loom

I hope you dont mind this as a first post. We are Hampshire based charity, have big workshop with good facilities, and always willing to help out with small jobs for builders, or the loan of specialist tools free of charge. We also generate lots of offcuts of various steel etc that people like to womble up!
If you are ever in the area and you want a hand with something or just a chat and a nose around to see what we do just swing by and say hi.

If any of you happen to buy one of these rails, you will automatically have access to events we organise or are involved in, as long as you bring your car and are available to give a disabled or disadvanted kid, or wounded servicemen, or whoever it may be, a ride! We cannot afford our own fleet yet so we run on the goodwill of buyers.

You can check out more at www.powersliderides.com or find me on the dreaded facebook markdreamshack.

Very nice bit of kit! I don't think anyone minds a shameless plug of something as interesting as this.
Good luck with the sales.

Although normally more at home zipping about on the road, we took the rail for a proper mudbath on Sunday....

We have a few customer builds going on at the moment, do the moderators think it would be Ok to start a topic where we and other people building these could post. Not sure what to call it, but the range is called "X-bugs" spot the pun!

powerslide rides 10th January 2013 18:00

Could I possibly pick your collective brains on this draft ad we are putting in Kit Car mag next month. Any constructive criticism most welcome

Any pics of your landrover and vitara buggys please and what price are they

powerslide rides 17th January 2013 07:35

I am trying to get a couple of them back for pics, but they will not be too representative of the new ones. new ones are a bit better executed! There is going to be a feature in Kit Car magazine in a month or so, hope to have the new demonstrators all ready for then.
As for price, the non IVA donor using L Rover or Vitara chassis, base price for starter kit is £995, the full spaceframe comp safari style (IVA reqd) is £1595 for the starter kit.
