Car is in for interior trim and dash conversion. Headlining is using traditional bows rather than being stuck on. Very pleased so far!

Traditional headlining with bows is a very nice period feature, My Jag Mk2 had a new headlining professionally fitted when it was rebuilt 30 years ago. Still looks as good as new.

Was watching a wheeler-dealers video on youtube on a Jag XJS, Ed was fitting a new headliner as they are prone to drooping, someone had tried to glue it back and made a pig's ear of it. The new headlining looked superb. The next video was French Wheeler-Dealers (didn't know they did one), in this version again on an XJS, they removed the moulded headling and threw it away, then cut a new headling out of some material and stuck it on with aerosol glue. As you can imagine it looked awful, I wonder how long that will stay up with the Mediterranean sun?
Same job, different skill set.
Looking forward to seeing the dash conversion. Is the dash going to be painted or covered?

Makes the kits rare, mine is Mazda based 250 gto not swb.

@Steve - going for black crackle paint finish. I've got black on black dials rather than the cream centres.

Before the car went in I had lots of discussions with Wayne at Evolution Trim Works around headlining strategies and how we could "lift" the large amount of black in the interior. Well it certainly paid off...over the moon with his work!

Dash is off for prep and paint shortly.

Sadly, we've stalled due to the coronavirus. Wayne has no work booked in after me and delays due to slow parts availability plus some custom bits.

Obviously his family come first and he needs income - gutted for him and he is clearly talented. Hopefully he can get back into it when we're finally out of this madness...

Well it's been a long road and at times very trying for both Wayne and myself. COVID has knocked his fledgling business sideways on top of which the interior build posed many challenges such as what to do for rear shelf as the fuel pipe runs across interior due to relocation of fuel filler. I think he's really pulled it out of the bag and I'm really over the moon with it :D

Please note the wheel is being swapped out for a Nardi Anni 60 so "that" badge will not be there after the car gets home.

Things you should know about your car but didnt:
Turns out my Borani replicas have alloy rims - no wonder they cost the builder a packet!

Onwards and sideways. Resolving issues and some issues yet to resolve...

The good stuff - replaced the Lucas rear lights with the proper jobs. Surprisingly straight forward swap.

Trimmed the boot. Unfortunately all the original boot trim was junked by previous owner so I'm looking out for the inner arch trims. The pics probably flatter it but I'm happy with how it's come out - unlike my back which us screaming! Should've jacked the car up. Doh!

Next up some headlining issues and switcg out door cards for the Classic Coachworks versions I shouldve got to start with then on to the exterior. It's crying out for the rain gutters and chroming.

Does anyone who's used chrome wrap reckon you could do the window frames? Toying with the idea of stainless U section cap to sit over the frames but tight on gap.

Basically it's all details now.

Window frames - IMO chrome powder coat is the way to go.
Mine look great!

I'd love to but the outer frame is not removable - there's a bolt captive between the grp and original door. Just got to think outside the box a bit.
