Try Jeff H build thread, he did a lot of modifications to his doors.
|
Jeff made his own frames, and later deleted most of the thread.
|
Jack, try a PM to Andy Sharrock. He has put a few together I think, all pretty much standard trim.
|
Contacted Chris, got some advice. Will give it a go.

Good evening Molleur PM sent Geoff .

Any interest in your 250 SWB yet, surprised it hasn't gone by now.

Any words of wisdom for 250 SWB window frame door seals?
Are the Z-3 seals used or aftermarket? How do we seal the bottom of the window frames, do they interfere with the door push button locks? Getting ready to cut more on the already bonded door skins (again, thanks to unsolicited "help"). |

'glassed the huge cutout for the fuel fill that I had to make. All good there now! Perplexed about the door window frames, still. |

Finally some progress.
From that to this. |
Make sure that the opening catch and the lid don't touch the bodywork when yo open the cap, otherwise, it will damage the paintwork. It doesn't look as if you have enough clearance.
|
No worries. Plenty of clearance there.
Good point for all to follow. |
Getting ready to order the flocked door aperture bulb seal trim from CBS,
How many meters should I get for both doors? |

hi there.
here at c.c. we buy it on the roll and cut off as needed but as a general rule for door trim/boot trim/seals measure doors and 15 cm extra to be trimmed off when you're happy with the fit better too much than too little happy building www.classiccoachworks.org |

Is the complete door aperature trimmed with the bulb seal, or just the upper area where the Z3 door seals are present? Thanks |

Good luck with the build. I am a month in, very slow I’m afraid but trying to sort out the interior first. Want modern features in a classic form.

My progress has also been quite slow as I am fixing things after "help" by some friends. Good idea to get the interior finished first. Mush easier than doing it later (as I must do). |

All part of the fun in building a car 😁👍 |
Be persistent and try to accomplish something everyday.
Weather permitting, of course. Facing new or unknown challenges is part of the feeling of accomplishment! |
sorry for delay

Jeff H is spot on, keep it uniform, looks better and less leaks. We shoud be online more soon, with advice and more build info, we are just about to progress the build of a 250 Koupe as a demonstrator and will log the builds finest moments for the home builder, I realise this doesn't help you with a Kali, but our Kali (bought before we started company) is having the super duper interior treatment soon and there will be more info and pics along the way. Feel free to pop to website www.classiccoachworks.org, or call me 07986 291525, if you have any questions, always happy to help, free advice etc, regardless if you bought direct from tribute, from us, or were a previous customer of Nubodi happy building, sorry for huge message, watch this space and we will start to list more info. ( plus complete kit car mag running a news flash introducing us 1st feb, and should be in TKC next issue or the one after with a hello world interview and an amazing Kobra rep) Belle. |
Oooh new build pics (250 coupe) to look forward too :)
New Kobra you say. Must come down as I planned soon to have a gander. (Sorry about the thread hijack Jack) Dave |

Weather cleared, managed to get my small bonnet mould finished and make a part. A little left to do on it. Fit is now perfect.
just propped up with paint sticks in pic. |
Nice work.
But can you remind me why you needed to make your own? Good luck, Paul. :) |
'Need to make a new small bonnet. Upper skin was sucked in when bonded to the inner skin.'

Small update
Cutout for the Grassbank rear window made (nice). Previously bonded parcel shelf removed. New pattern begun. Side fender vent slots cut out. Getting there. |
Last few days grinding/sanding/lots of Acetone & paper towels
removing the bed liner spray my "friends" coated inside the entire body. More needed too. Preparation prior to bonding the frame channels to accept the very nice Grassbank rear window. |
Good to hear you are making progress. Severe lack of photos tho! Would love to see some of how you are doing the window.
