Looking good, where did you get the filler cap moulding ?

Weecharlie 13th June 2020 18:57

Thanks, the filler cap moulding came with the kit from classic coachworks

I stuck mine underneath the shell and then sanded the top back which made it a very easy job on the 250. I think you have made the job a lot harder with your method as you will have to get the contours spot on for a seamless blend.

Charlie,

That stack of wheels in one of your photos are the same as a set I sold. They look like the genuine BMW split rim alloys and even if they are rough examples they sell for good money, they're quite sought after !

Yeah your right that's probably the best way to do it, bond the panel on to the bottom of the body, drill some holes and sand it back till it looks like a good fit, unfortunately... I'm an idiot... It should look ok the way I'm going to do it but it would have been much easier doing it the way u say..mental note for next car build do it that way

Didn't know that.. yeah they are split rims and the person I bought the z3 from had them sprayed with a black glitter finish... Not sure what wheels I'm putting on mines yet and will probably keep these ones till I see something I like, out of curiosity how much did u sell ur set for if u don't mind me asking

My wheels needed a full refurb but still went for just under £500.
