Finally plucked up the courage

Eventually started my mx250c after having bought everything in January/February 2016.
I decided there is never a good time to start, so went for it. The weather is always too bad or too nice to start destroying a good soft top!
Within the afternoon I have the back end stripped and I am ready to start riving at the bodywork.
Any tips are greatly appreciated. I'm using a 1998 mk 2. I will be posting pics of progress as the weeks go by (or months)

Good luck, remember to keep posting.

Hi, I have built two mx250c 's now. A mk1 and a mk2.
If I can help just ask

daveytz 8th August 2017 22:43

Great. I have the back end removed now and need to start opening up the wheelarches. It's the bit I'm not looking forward to.

What plans have you got dude? In terms of colour? Wheels etc?

I'm thinking green with yellow racing decal. It may sound awful but it looks good in my head. I've seen some lovely wire wheel alloys on this forum which are a definite too.

This green with orange highlights combination is one of my favourite MX250s.

But as this is a mock up of what my own colour scheme will look like, I might be a bit biased.

Good luck, Paul. :)

PS
Do you have any photos of your own build?

Evening chaps. I'm trying to fit the front end but there is a vertical plate at the front end where the bonnet starts. This interferes with the front sitting right and looks like it shouldn't be there but dont want to cut it off yet! It hits the frame so the whole thing sits really high. Any suggestions?

Drummajor 25th September 2017 21:07

Do you have a picture?

daveytz 26th September 2017 15:51

I will sort one out tomorrow. Trying to fit in working on her between work and the weather!

daveytz 26th September 2017 15:53

How do you add photos on here? .

I'm trying to add a photo from my phone which shows how high the front and is sitting.

That is not right.

Take a look inside , from memory I think I removed some material from near where the headlight bowls would sit . Get the grinder out, but measure twice and cut once.

body fit

Yes cut headlight bowls so it sits right. Its not a hard kit to fit just needs fettling.

I know the headlights ate interfering with the front end but there is also a strip which looks like it should slot in front of the radiator bit it sits too far up if it goes there!

Remove it

mazdarazmataz 27th September 2017 15:52

Cut all the holes for the front now, and then at least you can see where its fouling

daveytz 27th September 2017 20:37

Here is the strip I was talking about. I will remove it as said.
