Engine rebuild questions

Hello,

Last year i was forced to rebuild my engine:mmph
At this moment it,s finally back from the workshop into my kitchen
(you know already).
Pistons etc.are in but i have some questions;
With my parts order i received a so called uprated oilpump which won,t
fit the original sump!

Has anyone fitted something like this to a Vitesse MK1/GT6?

This oil trower must be fitted a particular way,I can,t decide which way....

Please help me it,s already too long out of the car!

That oil pump looks to be the same as the one fitted in my GT6 MK3 engine but my sump does not have the mesh or plate supporting the mesh so maybe the pump has to be fitted without the mesh/plate.

warning

Long,long time since last message.

The engine was finally in the car and running(june 2016)but still struggling with ignition timing and carburetors when a new freeze plug in the head started to leak, the engine had then run ca.1 hour all together.
I needed to remove the head and all ancillary's to renew the plug.

It is then that i noticed the oil i had put on the pistons flowed away, this meant the pistons didn,t seal good.
After several test i decided to take the engine out again and take it to the workshop.....

They called me today to have a look inside and i,am baffled over what i saw.

Because off shitty new fitted piston rings(not round)the cylinders, bearing shells and crankshaft are scratched due to flushing petrol.

Now the engine must be taken apart again!:icon_cry::icon_cry::icon_cry:
Again crankshaft and cylinders has to be polished.
I haven,t got an offer yet but i fear the worst.

To all builders:i have bad experiences with several new parts:ball joints with cracked rubber after 0 miles, all the suspension bushes failed the MOT after
500 miles(now new PU bushes fitted)and last but not least those:sick:piston rings
which will cost me lots off money!
All this parts came from Rimmer but i think they are common sold by other
dealers.

So agian no summer driving and still spending lots off money for me.

Its a sad state of affairs that most modern replacement parts are of poor quality ...its a good idea to upgrade suspension bushes etc if you can stretch to it ...
