Well, that's it. Paint shop is booked for the 4 Jan. it gives me a date to work too. Guess I'm going to be busy rubbing .....again.

Drummajor 31st December 2015 12:47

Goes to paint on Monday
Still outside rubbing stuff down , starting to get a little anxious now.
What's the worst that can happen?

Any picture updates? A before paint with a panicked look? All the best and good luck

Good luck for the paint - the worse thing that'll happen is it's gonna look fabulous! :)

It's in primer , this is all rather exciting. I could have it back on Monday then the rebuild can begin.

It always looked good and with the peace of mind knowing that the structure is sound you have years of just driving it.

Looking forward to the pics

The trouble with these long cold dark nights is that I spend hours on my iPad, I have now talked myself into taking the dash out of my MX and fitting a custom one!!
It's not even back from the paint shop yet !

Danny_HUFC 10th January 2016 08:16

The mx dash is realy easy to work with and disguise. Have a look on my build thread, i relocated the heating controls and cd player behind the seats and it really made a difference.

I agree I modded the dash on my Roadster, took the speedo apart and custom made faces and masks added chrome rings all easy and as Danny said the centre console unscrews easily giving a few options. Changing the switches to toggles all helps

I didnt 'unscrew' my dash, was more of an angle grinding of the dash....
