Confused on cooling sytem for turbo.

Hi Guys.

I've been looking and trying to work out where all the different pipes go.

I've looked at the Marlin CD and also http://www.marlinturbo.dsl.pipex.com/coolant_system.htm.

Could someone please put my mind at rest.

Here is my findings so far.

Sorry about the funny pictures!!!

I've been trying to follow all the hot and cold routes comparing the original Rover diagram.

The questions.

Is my guess correct in the above diagram?

On the Rover diagram from Rave, the heater valve is connected to the bottom connection on the heater matrix. But on Trev's picture and Marlin's it's connected to the top connector on the heater matrix.

On the Rover diagram, there is a bypass hose for the turbo that goes to a connector on the radiator above the bottom coolant hose. Should this be implemented?

The Tee piece from the expansion tank. One pipe goes to the expansion tank, the other to the pipe on the thermostat housing but where does the other go to??? I guessed that the other pipe also goes to the coolant elbow but the bottom connector.

heater pipes

It does not matter which way the heater pipes are connected, just find the easiest method. Brian.

Great stuff guys.

Great drawing. Looks a lot better than my cartoon drawing!

Just compared notes John. The only differences I can see are you feed the heater via the valve with cold where as Rave say hot feed to heater bottom via valve. Not sure how things work here. Maybe just as holhate86 says just the easiest way to connect. But I did notice that you have connected from header tank to the turbo inlet. This would supply hot water to the turbo. Again Rave says the supply should be cold to the turbo.

Although I could also be talking total garbage through not understanding.

On a quick note. The Tee piece for the cooling system. Can these be bought at the local motor factors?

Thanks for all your help everyone. :eusa_clap:
