Stoneleigh meet up
Hi all
We are planning a meet up at 1pm at the Tribute owners area. Would be great to be able to put faces to names.😁👍 |
Sorry forgot to add this is for the Sunday
|
The club's pitch is in the usual place but a bit difficult to get to due to all of the Road Closed signs on the site. The HS2 works have made a real mess. If the signs are still there tomorrow, I would suggest carefully driving round them!!!

Sorry guys can’t find the stall
|
Never found the Tribute stand. Some nice Z3 based cars about. But omg I don’t want to see another Westfield in my life
|
Not sure, but i don't think Chris made it....

Meet up at 1pm today
It was great to meet some friendly faces (New and old alike) at the Tribute owners club parking place today! good luck all who are undertaking builds currently. :thumb:
|
It was good to meet some of the forum regulars agreed :)
I’m sure I chatted with some but still don’t know who they were though :( Dave |
Best turnout of Tribute cars on the club stand this year, some really well turned out Kobra's plus Kidge in his 275 and a couple of 250's. Several more on the Italian replica stand.
The Tribute cars exhibited in the halls were getting lots of attention, especially the GrassBank SWB, a work of art that one ! Put some faces to names on here, well worth the visit. |

9ne of the cars of the show for me was the Grassbank 250 SWB. They have addressed every single issue and offer comprehensive upgrades that are amazing quality:
Deep dish wheels without wheel extensions (same peg drive as mine were) by crafty hub swapping at rear and repositioning and 'adjustment" of front suspension- difference is amazing. Stainless electric windows and frame solution - looks production. Colour coded cover panel featuring washer jets to cover the bottom of the screen glass and achieve the perfect screen look with thick chrome windscreen trim. Exact exhaust system that cleverly utilise existing vac pipe to shut off inner 2 pipes for more pleasant cruising. Slotted pull close system for bolt on of front clip to bring it into perfect, and I mean perfect, alignment with the doors And 9f course tgeir proper wrap around rear screen. The attention to detail was increduble, the panels were arrow straight not a hint of any imperfection. Head and shoulders above any previous Tribute build.just a different league. And although the asking price for the demo was 65k (they do NOT do full builds note) it is still better value than any out there - only my opinion. Seriously, it was that good. Would love to see their deep dish wheel conversion on the convertible and the lower screen panel fix. |
Z300S at 2019 Stoneleigh
Was it something I said???
My car was on the stand both days but on its own today... Yes the Grassbank is rather good- the wheels and that window particularly. Good to meet Dave who is having his Z300S (it's #7 of the 7) painted this week. |
I went on Sunday and couldn’t find the Tribute owners area. The programme indicated that it was near the Westfield area but I couldn’t find it. Good show though and some v nice cars. I’m trying to persuade my brother in law to build a stratos kit.

I agree that these two were probably the outstanding cars on the trade stands. Apart from the Tribute owner area, I especially enjoyed the Lomax and Marlin n areas.

I commented on the rear screen conversion before, very good ! But I've only just noticed the front screen surround which also looks first class ! I liked all their offerings on the stand, the electric window conversion was impressive, but so was the price at £3.5k ! Even factoring in the extra's it would still only amount to the same as a typical Cobra build and I know what I would prefer.

Speaking to Sean at Grassbank the next mod will be removing the rear arch lip - not needed now they've tucked the wheels in and another step closer to the original.
And Lucky the windows were 3.5k plus VAT so well over 4k! They also had had to have the door handles dethroned as, like mine, the brass was started to show on the barrels. They'd also sorted the boot handle so no spacers and looks more original. As you say, gotta be looking at 40k plus to build to that level and with what must be hundreds of hours on the bodywork and paint - the difference between the Grassbank and Classic Coachworks bodywork on next stand was stark (not that it didn't look good in itself) |
Saw both the white and red Kobras out on the road and thought they looked really well - seems to suite solid colours better than metallic - the deep red in particular looked good.
Again be interesting to see the Grassbank rear hub/front control arm mod done on them to get deep dish wheels on... |
