Anyone on here ?

Currently on ebay ....

Preston location would hint at it being a Ribble ...

Looks nice and has been well built if the description is anything to go by. One slight criticism though, the seats are mounted very high so it'll have the Noddy driving position.

I think it should find a buyer at that price though.

It does look nice.

It would also be good to see a Sammio selling for £10k+.

Apparently , its a Sammio body shell bought as an unfinished project and the previous owner had cut the bonnet and framework up to a point neither could be used . So a Ribble bonnet now sits on the front .

I agree , Paul , as classic car prices rise , the donors are rising in price , therefore its perfectly justifiable that the ''Classic Special'' SHOULD rise in price too ...Sammio's are regularly making stronger money in Europe with nearly every car that sells ending up in Europe . There are a couple of guys I know of who have regularly bought and re-sold these cars in Germany and France ..

Be nice to see prices going up, the basic Herald seems to be. Here's my latest car

Mister Towed 30th July 2016 06:31

Very nice. Pale blue does suit the Spyder shape.

Living in France has opened my eyes to how difficult it is to register such a car here, nigh on impossible.... However I am told if you are lucky enough to succeed then the value of the car is huge compared to UK..

This popped up after I followed the link to the £48k DNA kit on the Tribute section.

Unfinished project with 1967 2 Litre Vitesse donor, but poorly listed on Ebay as Sammio is not mentioned anywhere.

Love the single tail pipe exit.

However, not so keen on the "straight rods" above the wheel arch treatment.

Oops - Sorry the links to the Ebay photos are HUGE!

SAW THAT EARLIER TODAY ...I think the wheelarches are meant to represent a styling cue borrowed from a 300 SLR ...Its not quite working for me ...

Has potential though ...

Mister Towed 6th August 2016 07:18

Looks rather nice to me - another individual departure on the race car theme.

The SLR side slashes work better on the front than the back for me, at the front they do a good job of disguising the huge wheelarch gap left as a result of fitting the bonnet high enough to fit over the Vitesse engine without resorting to a big scoop. The ones on the back look like a bit of an afterthought and could do with a bit of fettling to get them matching the front.

The single exhaust outlet is nice - that was exactly what I was going to do but as I fitted my fuel tank behind the rear spring the tank was in the way of the silencer.

Its looks would benefit from taller profile tyres imho, and I do wonder if those 48 spoke wires will be strong enough to cope with the weight of that cast-iron six though.

Overall, a good looking car and it's such a shame the owner isn't able to finish it.

If you're the owner and you're reading this, I wish you a speedy recovery and a long and happy retirement in Spain. Mind you, building old sports racing cars can be very therapeutic... ;)
