SVA or IVA testing

Hi everyone,

I am wanting to build a kit car, brand new build, and wanted to ask if anyone had a knowledge about the reconditioned engine to manufacturers spec and how stripped down and rebuild this would need to be?
Also do the SVA testers need to see the build during or just after its complete?

Many thanks

iva test is once it's complete. They don't see it before or during build.

during the BIVA they don't care whether its a new engine or not,. you need to prove the date of the engine for emissions purposes. If you want a new reg then when you get it DVLA inspected/registered it has to be reconditioned to as new. i.e. if you do the rebuild yourself you need proof of where the engine came from and receipts for new bearings, gasket sets etc and the engine should look new too i.e. fully stripped and painted block, shot blasted/heavily cleaned head etc
