Looks nice :D Must sound great with that engine

peterux 24th April 2008 22:01

hhmmmm, not seen that one before.

It'll be interested to see what price it goes for.
I've been getting some insurance quotes and i'm not sure how to value my car?
If it was stolen or a total loss (god forbid) and I commisioned Marlin to build me a replacement I think it would cost about £17,000 but a second owner Sportster never fetch anything like that value.

What value have others used for insurance?

Patrick 24th April 2008 22:03

I've got mine for 15k agreed value (PS MOC membership gets a you a discount at Adrian Flux)

I plan to put that up once it's painted depending on cost to 17 - 19. You're not insuring its second hand valve as you would with a normal car but an "agreed value" of what it would for you to replace / rebuild it.

look at all the space under the bonnet, you could fit a couple more cylinders in there at least :D

I wonder if he needs a nice new hood?

Stuart 21st October 2008 21:27

Marlin screwed up my hood length to luckily i asked them to fit the hood so I didnt have the problem of sending it back. Apparently the car length is governed by the door length Terry will probably ask you to measure your doors.

Incredible, Terry thinks it's a problem at their hood supplier.

peterux 29th October 2008 21:40

And here is another early short wheel based Sportster for sale.

Shame about the number plate!

Stuart 30th October 2008 07:42

Perhaps your hood might fit that one?

Shame about the number plate!

Doesn't look very red either  - that is very cheap for an SVA'd car. Major saving to be hand. But I'd want to rebuild it to be sure everything is A-OK.

MartinClan 30th October 2008 20:20

There seems to be some awesome (gruesome) negative camber on those front wheels. Almost looks like they are laying down!

As Patrick says - very cheap for an SVA'd car. I wonder why.....

Number plate looks familiar? Wasn't this car in some of Marlin's brochures but in yellow?

Patrick 26th June 2009 07:04

dunno, but the ali bonnet just doesn't work on it at all IMO.

MartinClan 26th June 2009 12:51

I think its actually painted grey/silver. I agree - it doesn't look great with a pale colour.

Still thinking about keeping by bonnets "in the raw" as it were but with a dark colour for the coachwork. I am tending towards BRG now....

Robin

Patrick 26th June 2009 13:02

I think if it were fully polished it might work quite well on a dark colour :)

So that'll be two BRG sportsters then. White Roundrels for pretend race numbers?

MartinClan 26th June 2009 14:37

Now there's a thought.....
