The way the bolt used in the gear linkage is priceless!
Take a look... |

Yes, and that's what did it......the bolt and the wiring. I could have coped with the bodywork if underneath had been executed well, but goodness me.
It would be worth more if he/she binned the body and sold a rolling chassis. |
The wood could come in for templates and perhaps shelves, as for the bolt...

The worst one I built is now for sale. http://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8ff20b2e.jpg The only thing I liked about it was the dash/clock pod, it's actually made from a head light  http://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0ca87a5e.jpg So if you want it for £2,500 just call me and I'll pass your details on the the seller :thumb: |
Now I won't dis anyone for what they produce if they've put a lot of time and effort in to it, especially as I'm nowhere near 'perfect' on my build either.
So, I just got a simple question on this 'special' Can someone who knows 2cv's confirm exactly what that gold rod is? Please tell me its not a steering column extension!! Quote:

Dave, Not sure what dis means but guessing it means dismiss. If somebody puts a creation which as you say has obviously taken a lot of effort, thought and time to create,up for public auction they do lay themselves open to a little gentle criticism.
We do have an interest in what is present on our roads, we have to drive among among them. In reality I doubt this creation would stand a snowballs chance in hell of ever passing an MOT in it's present form but it could have the potential to be put on the road. If it were pre 1960 (which it clearly isn't) it wouldn't even have to pass an MOT. As for the brass tube, it isn't the steering column, the rack is much further back almost under the floor. I THINK, it might be the handbrake... I can't see any evidence of a handbrake in the cockpit, looking in the engine bay the tube contains a link which seems to pull a lever, right next to a brake disk... https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8749/...3e795b42_o.jpg https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7638/...5330ee48_o.jpg Not sure if the auction has ended or not. It would be a good starting point for a project of some sort, cars with chassis are our only way of creating specials nowadays since we can't create our own or alter body shells without the issues surrounding the IVA. If I weren't up to my elbows in the Marlin I could be tempted myself, most of the bits are there and it's not an expensive project, a few sheets of aluminium and it could be a nice little car. |
disrespect...

:) sorry for the confusion.
And thanks for clarifying that about the steering / brakes. Totally agree that it would be a great start for someone! |
