Agreed ..it's already strangling them ...very difficult to build an authentic retro styled car based on new regulations ...My friend in Holland has had his business affected greatly by currently changing regulations ...it's happening everywhere ...cars like the MEV Replicar try their best , but a whole rear panel full of various different coloured tail lights ..amongst other concessions they have to make ..just doesn't do it for me when trying to create a retro looking vehicle ...

Its a real shame but we can't stop it ..

Hint of Fenari 308/Lancia 037/TVR wedge about DNA's buck to me.

if i showed you guys the build photos of the 250 california when it was at the same stage as this car ,you wouldn't believe it was the same car (250)

brian knows what hes doing, this car will evolve as its being built,
there's no definate shape to follow like if your copying an already excisting car on the market. they do a bit, stand back have a look ,then might change the whole thing.
the base idea was the bmw 328 hommage but it will change as they go along and if the guy whos funding it likes what he sees, and what he wants.

...just like Peter Wheeler's dog then.

I could never understand why they sold so many more Chimaeras than Griffiths.

Movie cars?

Jaguartvr 9th June 2018 05:40

Not over here, you still see quite a few Chimaeras but a Griff is a rare sight nowadays.

Me too. The Griffiths was (is) TDB.

Well.... I like it! But then I always liked the Alfa SZ. Looks like a concept version - very similar to a pic on deviant art.

They marketed the chimaera as the cruiser/boulevardier and the Griff as a hairy arsed brute! Under the skin they were the same from about '95 IIRC apart from the smaller engine options for the Chim.

Griff also had 4.0 and 4.3 as well as the 5.0.

never sold in the US but appeared in quite a few films.

Ah ok, never seen a griff in a film, only a Tuscan in Swordfish. IIRC from mid 90s griffs were 5 litre only and more expensive, the 4s were early on precatalyst, few were 4.3 bigvalves and v sought after now...., hence why loads of 4 litre chimaeras were sold (I’m on my second).

These were posted on another forum. It’s looking pretty special and I think set to make a hit at nationals.

One things for sure, with DNAs attention to detail and the nice little trick the car has, I can see this being a big hit!
