I reckon he'll have a mould off of it by the weekend! |
Swb targa
As Chris and Dan are intent on building every version of every pre-64 Italian super car, I'd quite like a targa roof on my SWB.
Presumably the Z3 front hood locks could be used with a bit of re-design to the roll bar mounts ? No idea about fastening the rear of the roof - perhaps something from an MR2? |

http://i1046.photobucket.com/albums/...pscrw2qmmk.jpg The above is what happens when you can't decide between the front or back boot space on the MR2, so you put the spare wheel in the middle!! |
Vandalism or the result of a drift idiot trying to drive home on other people's space-savers (illegally btw) and the wheels coming off?
|
Thers a build thread in the non tribute section where this has just been done...

What about a 300sl roadster
|
A Benttley?
Deliberately misspelt |
I wonder what a Maserati a6g/54 would look like with a 250 swb front end from the a pillar onwards. The grill that's slightly angular . From the side the bonnet shape looks similar

Ferrari 612 gto - lots of the lines mimic the 250 gto Celica headlamps z3/z4 base car |

Got this on order : https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-y...no/Z300SWB.png http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/foru...ead.php?t=5409 |
What about something that is a mix of 2 or 3 tribute kits blended together ?
For example: A Kobra front with 250GTO headlamps and vents (Kobrarri). http://oi62.tinypic.com/28irn8y.jpg The rear could be a modified Z300S (with a Lyonhart K style rear diffuser) and LED rear lights for example. http://oi57.tinypic.com/2n8vg3o.jpg You could end up with many different mixes and have dozens of different models. |
How would a 250 swb with a cobra front from the a pillar forward . Using the roofline and screen from the swb.Maserati a6g53 ish.

Im envious of your skills
Thank you - I had the idea in my head but you have convinced me im going the right way with this. |
By that photoshop it looks like your going the right way with it. I think it should look well.
|
The fluted front does look nice with lights flowing into it. Almost e type
|
The raise over the rear wings give it some nice hips too

Grr I need to choose a design and stick with it |
How about mating the SWB and the Zagato front end, painting it the right colour and some nice jag wires?
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...za/zagatto.jpg |
Very nice, looking more like an Evanta GT or Zagato Aston.
|
I did speak to Chris about doing just that.
But the door panels and door handles mean that its not as quick a job. I do not have anywhere to build - but I can bolt the front and rear on in my car park |

This would be a rather nice car to have built, saw it down at Goodwood a couple of years back. It's an MPH Jaguar

Nice. Love the grey paint with red leather.

Ive been looking at lots of updated cobra models
I like this sketch it would fit the z3's proportions http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/...psedvlxrgm.jpg |
Are you sure thats not a sketch of a new mini cooper s soft top?
|
it has mini grille shape but its proportions are different
maybe a mini that's had 8" sectioned out of the body The shape is purposeful like the cobras and read back through this thread we have discussed citreons merging with 911 so im sure we can all see past the mini similarity |
What are the next generation of donor cars likely to be . I'm sure the BMW Z4 is on the cards There must be others coming up to 10 years old or so and affordable with bolt on / off panels.
