My Build 1974 Bond Bug
 

Hi everyone, for those of you who dont know, i am building a custom Bond Bug. I previously posted about the ford pinto engine but have found the engine i am going to use.

Im using a modified 850cc reliant engine which standard produces about 40 hp but i have fitted a higher lift cam skimmed the head and done some tappet,flywheel lightening and fitted weber 32 carb from a mk1 fiesta, electronic fuel pump and an electric dizzie. Also i have polished the ports and drilled out the carb manifold so 1 chamber. I have also bored out the pistons to 900cc and fitted a 4 branch manifold Next job is to fit an external oil pump. but havent decided yet.

So in all should be pretty quick, hopefully about 10,000 rpm and will crusie at about 100mph which is more than enough for a little three wheeler. I have also pinched the internals out of a reliant B axle to increase the torgue and allow me to obtain a higher cruising speed which is needed im todays traffic.

To increase stability i am going to fit wider wheels and extend the trailing arms and anti roll bar. also im going to buy hagon adjustables and tweek them apropriately as i test it out. The speedo is knookered and wont be calibrated correctly for the speed, so im gonna scrap it and replace it with something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=270266676896 Is this ok

The Body will be stock exept for the arches which will need to be widened.

I will use mini brakes as if i use disc brakes they will lock up too easily because the car is so light.

I am in the process of reparing the chassis/ modifying it. Its going to be power coated black.
