Grrrr
That moment when you’ve put the dash all back together , stepped back and admired your work. Then , turn the heater blower on to it’s Second setting and the dash lights come on ! Turn it to full power and they turn off. Blower motor has 3 settings, 1st and 3rd are fine, when it’s in the 2nd position I have dash lights too . Grrrrrrr Very tempted to just leave it. It took me ages to put the dash in , don’t really want to take it out again. |
Would it be safe if I just left it ?
Only happens on the 2nd setting. |
sounds like a fire risk to me. :(
|
Today will be dash removal , again, to try and find that damn short , bad earth.
I really hope I find it and it’s an easy fix . |
I’ve found it, I’ve found it . Eureka .
Note to self, don’t fit a mk1 heater knob into a mk2 . Yes it fits and it mostly works . But don’t . |
nice, well done :thumb:

A successful couple of evenings work, I now have two functioning doors and the door electrics work too.
Very pleased . Is it too early to start talking about stoneleigh ? |
I have one of those rare rust free mazdas .
At last . |
Still not happy with the dash , will remove it AGAIN and try another layout . Hopefully for the last time.
|
And??? The dash is out .
I seem to be having problems posting pictures ? Photo bucket is not playing ball. |
|
I’ve done a lot of work to get this MX5 ready to strip.
Now I think I’m ready for the conversion |
Really hoping to get the dash back in the car today for the final time .
Then get the rear end on. |
|
Hopefully this will fit this time
