Good afternoon yes that number is on retention and has been replaced with
A2 HPU , Geoff .

casamolino 30th January 2019 10:12

Morning , i am guessing there will be no work outside today! Geoff .

casamolino 30th January 2019 12:58

I need to update the statement about not working outside , once the snow was cleared off the cover and the cover put on the fence to dry , then clearing the drive and putting some grit down , the sun was actually good to work in , although what was i thinking when i bought a house without a garage , Geoff .

Surprised this hasn't gone yet. The wire wheels now fitted are game changing to the image, and what with the dash and interior all done I'm struggling to understand why it's sticking, especially considering valuations and previously achieveds being banded round on here

I suspect 2 main reasons........ Too soon after Christmas, peeps haven't got available money. Sun isn't shining! People feel good about buying (or viewing) when the sun is shining.

Probably this, I have just bought a rusty 1963 Lambretta, and having followed prices for 15-18 months, knew I could get it for 20-30% less than the price before Christmas. Now, people are trying to offload projects because they need cash, and the ones that are not discounted are not selling, same as last year. People with kids always spend more than they can afford at Christmas, and those who don't or have kids that are grown up, are spending on holidays in the sun.

Lucky@LeMans 10th February 2019 17:21

The car has been on the market for at least six months, possibly longer. Its all in the detail really and these are my observations so take it with a pinch of salt Geoff.

First the wire wheels do set it off better that's for sure. However the tyres look small in diameter, a higher profile tyre would fill the arches better.

The dash is a step in the right direction but the gauges look like they are at a laid back angle rather than being more upright.

The centre consol could do with a better fit and finish and the blue carpet won't be to every bodies taste. I'm not a fan of the wing mounted mirrors either.

I'd give the advertising a break and try again in the spring with a new audience. I'm not trying to criticise but just making a few observations that potential buyers might be thinking when they look at the photos.

Your asking price is in the right area imo and you should hold out for that.

Donerix 2nd March 2019 14:35

I am by no means an expert but I think the price is great and leaves somebody room to give it some final touches to their liking.
Just my 2 cents.
I do have a question though:
What did you do with the duct work for the heater (I guess you don't have A/C). I can't see any vents with the new dashboard.
Thinking of building one myself but I live in the tropics and will need AC but I want the retro dashboard. Any help would be appreciated

casamolino 2nd March 2019 14:58

Good afternoon Donerix , my car does have AC but as a personal preference i did not want vents on either side of the dash , they could be incorporated if reqd , the AC working through the vents onto the screen will keep the car cool and that was with the rear roof vent sealed , thanks Geoff .

Barber 2nd March 2019 15:09

See my dash on the Z3gato thread. All is possible, as the are GRP

Great news. This should make it a lot easier for me.
Good luck with the sale.
I would be all over this but the law here doesn't allow to import any cars older than 10 years. So I have to find one that is already in country and then do the work.

Thanks for the hint. Yes I see now. Will get a better idea when I have my donor car. Just would like to plan as much as possible up front .

Good evening my Dark Blue car is now sold and has been replaced by this ,

http://i.imgur.com/xja5yRah.jpg , built for me by Chris at Tribute , Geoff .

froggyman 20th April 2019 19:47

Well done Geoff. I look forward to seeing you personalise this one. The rear window makes such a big difference to the look of the car and even the door windows look more road than race.

molleur 20th April 2019 20:33

Interesting.
Is that the Grassbank rear screen and electric windows?

casamolino 21st April 2019 06:54

Morning here is a few more details this Z3 is a 2000MY car with a 3.0l engine less than 90,000 miles one owner last 5 years , the rear screen is from Justin at Grassbank but the electric window frames and *glass* designed and sorted by Chris .

Simon E 21st April 2019 08:57

And your choice of colour for this one? (Giallo Fly yellow, Giallo Fly yellow, Giallo Fly yellow).....just some subliminal mind messages going on!:icon_lol:

Simon E 21st April 2019 09:02

Will you be going to Stoneleigh in this? I would love to see this up close in it's current state to get an idea of how they are put together.

Jaguartvr 21st April 2019 09:29

Learn from the mistake of the yellow 250 on eBay. Keep it simple and subtle and you will appeal to many more buyers when you eventually come to sell it.

The side windows really improve the looks, I never liked the fact that the windscreen looked too high in relation to the side windows. Are the side windows glass or plastic?

Simon E 21st April 2019 09:31

Is that yellow one still on ebay? Can't seem to find it and would love to see what it would look like in yellow.

Jaguartvr 21st April 2019 09:35

Best to have a bucket to hand

Simon E 21st April 2019 09:53

Gracias! I'm weird so kinda like it:razz: Just get rid of the whitewalls and that would improve it 100%. When I build my Coupe I'm going for yellow and 16inch bolt on Image wire wheels, and with the car lowered like a Competizione, life's too short to worry about resale:icon_cool:

redratbike 21st April 2019 10:05

The white walls look very American market style

Build quality looks high , different set of wheels would completely change the look of that

I’d like to see a coupe in yellow

The side windows are plastic but it is a coated product that is supposed not to mark (easily) , i will not be going to Stoneleigh as starting the drive down to Italy to watch this years Mille Miglia , thanks Geoff .

Simon E 21st April 2019 10:25

Have a nice trip to Italy, we need pics en-route!

Not a fan of the yellow paint but the interior is pretty good, the door cards and tunnel top look the part, BMW gauges are a bit of a comprise though.

At the price- so are the bolt on non Borrani wheels and the non-Marchal spot lights. Nothing that another £6k wouldn't put right.

WorldClassAccident 22nd April 2019 20:14

non-Marchal spot lights

I have some genuine Marchals with at least one of the original boxes if anyone wants to piss pounds in the wind...

Most of that £6k was for the wheels...

Munky 23rd April 2019 00:52

The difference colour makes to a car is INSANE.
Also on the bay of ‘E’ at the moment...
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ferrari-2....c100009.m1982
I know where I would park my money (and the car isn’t yellow!). That said, it may suit a coupe better.
Wish I was still based in the UK...

It does look to have been done to a good standard, ref the gauges I am not too sure how easy it is to get the old style to work with the modern BMW set up, is there a kit to sort it available yet ?

I have a similar dash for my 250 SWB but may alter it a touch to try and lose the curve that gives the BMW origins away.

The colour will be marmite as with so many colours.

Oh and if you are reading this Geoff I will get your mouldings out to you this week, apologies for the delay.

Jeff thank you for the update , Geoff .

A chance to buy the Borrani wheels and the Marchal spot lights with the change.

Lucky@LeMans 24th April 2019 18:07

Nice set of Borrani's on ebay at the moment under £4k with tyres !
eBay item number:

Hughandjen 25th April 2019 21:24

I have seen the yellow one in automotivenostalgia a couple of times and it is done to a high standard. The yellow looks so good up close that I’m doing mine the same haha

Barber 2nd May 2019 13:33

Oh, you utter, utter b**tard, I am green with envy (California Sage Green probably). What a spanking job you have made of that. I'll be on the phone to Chris to hurry along with mine (well, I'm going down next week to review progress anyway).

Damn, damn, p*ss, sh*t and b*ggery b*llocks, you might have ruined my summer. Are you going to Stoneleigh on Sunday? Please say yes. - Just seen your previous post. Ah well.

Jaguartvr 2nd May 2019 20:07

Love it but lower the suspension and fit wire wheels

Jaguartvr 2nd May 2019 20:10

And some people want to paint them yellow
