WANTED: Ferrari Dino replica
Hello kit car world.
As per the title I am in the market for a replica Ferrari Dino 246 GT. I have found some excellent looking examples out there from JH Classics (£50K is a little out of my budget), and DeHavilland (again around £40K still out of my budget). I keep an eye on eBay, but I was wondering if anybody knew of somewhere else I could try, or perhaps someone on here is looking, or prepared to sell their beast? I have a top end budget of £25K but don't really want to spend that much. I want a car that has had the interior done in the correct style too, I don't want to feel like Im sitting in an MG or MR2 when Im driving the thing, I think that would slightly spoil the experience of knock-off Ferrari ownership. Is that realistic in my budget? I am happy to buy one that needs a little TLC as long as the price reflects that. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers in advance everyone. |
Have you seen the one on eBay for about 10k needs paint ???it was mr2 based

Only one I could find on ebay at the moment is this VW based Karma -

DeHaviland supply turnkey cars for 36k (confirmed at Stoneleigh). Be aware there aren't actually any 246 replicas out there, they're all splashed off a 206 which has shorter wheelbase and body. I think DeHaviland are the only ones yo market correctly as 206 rep. Anorak off!

Really nice Deon Ferrari Dino replica on ebay. Correctly registered with a years MOT.
£19,950 or offers, which seems to be very good value in todays market. Item 163770199679 Room for a little improvement, the bumpers could do with being re fitted and a few other details, the rear lights could do with squaring up etc but otherwise looks good. |
FYI CASCU's body is moulded from a 246 but yes, all the others since the 80s JH Classics DGT are from the same Dino 206 (with slightly altered wheelbase since the very first one was put on a Lotus Europa Chassis by David Mirylees http://www.lotuseuropa.org/gallery/D..._Europa?full=1 ). Unfortunately CASCU doesn't make a kit - just bodies and a chassis that replicates the Dino's (and therefore can use Ferrari 308/Mondial bits).
