Have you tried Mark at Southern Triumph Services in Southbourne? He usually has a number of six cylinder engines around.

I have been involved with Triumphs in the Dorset area for many years. If there are any elusive bits you're looking for feel free to give me a shout. I know the whereabouts of a number of potential donors too.

Thanks for you help.

Is this when you tell me your names Mark ?:icon_redface: :mod:

Nope, I'm Jim! A member of the local Triumph Mafia! I've been involved with small-chassis models for years and have friends into them too - we know where they're all lurking! Sorry to thread hijack: did you see the 13/60 DHC advertised on Bournemouth Gumtree this week? Could be a good base.

Ha Ha Jim welcome by the way mate. You sound like a handy man to know .

I didnt see the ad , i will look today.. many thanks and if i can help you just ask.

There's this one on ebay -

It's a fair way away from you in Kidderminster, but it does come with a free wheelbarrow...

mikmiglia 19th July 2013 16:55

Cheers mate, i will have a look, and just think of the possiblities, you did mention wheel barrow. Well without that , it would be a deal breaker .

Just think a new bonnet Ha ha ha ha ha. :icon_rolleyes:

Oh yes, I'd forgotten about your V8 clearance issues.

I thought you might just be able to wheel the engine down the M5 in the 'barrow. After all, it's only 170 miles...

I know it's not a straight six, but this looks like it could be right up your street Mike -

The 3.9 V8 with Type 9 gearbox has to be worth the money alone, while the body panels would fetch most (all?) of it back on ebay.

Also not a straight 6 but quite a potential donor

Quite funny that the Herald on ebay has
"been modified at the rear to fit a volvo or simular rear axel for extra torque that will be produced."
And then he goes and fits a type9!
