Planing a build in Poland

Hi guys, I am located in Poland and planing to build a MX250. So far I have only worked on bikes, have some custom Harleys, and muscle cars. I love the way MX250 looks, so I need to build one :) I have started talking to Tribute about my order.
So for now I have one question, I know that the kit is designed for MK1 Mazda, but can it be installed on a MK2 and how much fabrication it will take. Thanks for help!

Hi, and welcome .
Yes it can be put in the Mk2 . Some of the guys on this forum have done it, take a look I'm sure you can find it. I do know though that it requires some extra work to make it fit.

I put the convertible kit onto a MK2 (see Fatbloke builds a Spyder) and there were some complications but none which were insurmountable.

Hello Bubba,

How much are the labour costs in Poland? In the future I want to have my own kit car,, but I am not very handy.... That is why I am thinking of building one where the labour costs are cheap.

take care,

Sebastian

Employing a car mechanic is about 4 pounds per hour. For example rebuilding a c3 corvette, so fixing the body, frame, sanding, painting, and asembly costed 2 000 pounds.

Buggeration thats cheap!

Its about 50 quid an hour labour over here, probably more in a bodyshop.

Seams like my build is stuck, as I have problems with contacting with Chris, perhaps he is loaded with work, but I need to clear some things before I go ahead and ofcourse I need to have a Chance to place my order :)

Cool, as long as no suspension damage..

buba6 30th November 2013 19:41

the last owner installed performance suspension two days before the crash, it is in perfect condition

The damage to the body shouldn't cause a problem unless the slam panel under the front of the bonnet is bent, from the picture it looks like it might be.

You will need to retain the rear section of the front wings (approx 200mm) to bond the modified GRP front section to. The Mk1 kit now bolts straight on without the need to retain any of the original MX5 wing.

Is it low mileage?

buba6 30th November 2013 20:46

only about 50 000 miles

buba6 30th November 2013 20:48

Just bought my wheels, now will need to fabricate hubs for those. Got something to do while waiting for the kit :)

That's great. Many years of trouble free cruising ahead.

By the way, how do you mount the rear renault 5 wind screan? using factory renault 5 seal?
