MK1 Escort voltage regulator?
Hi all, nearly sorted the electrics on my Melos which has the MK1 Escort 6 clock dash,, all to do know is the Fuel and water temp gauge, i have checked the volts in and out, in as should be 12v but out put is varying fats from 0.5 to near 8 volts, never the 10 as what i think it should be, of have been told.
The fuel gauge doesnt move but the temp does just above the cold mark though. So i ha e been lookig for the same replacement V Reg, no luck as yet but i came across this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3607579076...84.m1436.l2648 Can i fit this type of V Reg inplace? cheers wolly |
Have you got a picture of your existing voltage regulator? Are you running dynamo or alternator?

I can get a pick, it as running a alternator, the Volt reg is a small silver oblong type with input and out put thats it.

An electronics whizz posted this on another forum I use:

Thanks for that mate, seems easy enough, i will pop over to Maplin in new year and see if i can get the Volt reg and resistors from there. A while since i messed like this with electrics.
all best mate Would you believe i have just been in the shed and found some 2200ohm resistors, all i need know is the 314ohm resistor, well as near as i can find, which is 300ohm which is as close to the error output of 7 i can find. |
I have seen this while googling on ebay
its not cased but they say its best way to dispurse the heat made, but is it what i need to replace the Volt Reg on my MK1 escort dash regulator/ http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tchlink:top:en aslo this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tchlink:top:en i was going to make one for a few quid but for £6 mite aswell by this if its what i need. |
