You could look at getting some hinges that pivot...

You could look at getting some hinges that pivot further back onto the scuttle. When the bonnet is lifted it will rise away in a bigger arc and not touch, perhaps . You'll have to do some measuring.

The plan is to get the front end off the chassis and start work on the scuttle and bonnet. That will be a few days work...
