I used it to bond my aluminium transmission tunnel, tried to take apart a few years later , forget it!

I'm leaning on the lampost....

Sounds like the banjo bolt is bottoming out in the fitting or there is a discrepancy in the thread length and the banjo thickness, time to get out the measuring sticks or a Vernier gauge .

For less than £20 you can get a float battery charger, I use one on my car all through the winter without any problems, cheaper in the long run. Hope the new battery works out.
