I spoke to the Javan guy at the FOS and mentioned Marlin to him. He said that over 4 years ago he had bought the rights, moulds, etc for an undisclosed sum from Strathcarron. He then found out that Marlin were using the Strathcarron body without his consent and contacted them. He was told by Marlin to sue them if he had a problem. The cost of suing Marlin would far outway the cost of purchasing everything from Strathcarron. Also Marlin could say that their body wasn't an exact copy of the Strathcarron because of the different lights and any other minor body changes. The Javan guy wasn't pleased.

Javan looks to be a quality car. The manufacture of the chassis, body, etc are outsourced to various companies around the U.K.

The Javan guy said that it had cost 2.7 million pounds to produce the Strathcarron originally and he didn't rate the car very well. The Javan chassis is totally different to the Strathcarron, with only the body being the same.
