In your defence, Grant didn't say all 1.8 k-series engines were fitted with a R65, just that they are compatible.
Assuming a 1.8 comes as standard with a PG1, presumably one would need to change the flywheel and clutch on a 1.8 vvc to mate it to a R65 'box?
Having said the above, the Which Kit build used a 1.8 vvc, and there's no mention of different engine mounts being needed, that I can remember.
What's the rule of thumb torque limitations of the gearboxes?
