Default ABS

My donor had ABS - I considered fitting it (for about 10 seconds...) Here are some reasons why not to fit it...

The ABS is an old system and prone to failure. Many E30's out there have a non-working ABS - they just disconnect the light in the dash so it doesn't fail the MOT.... If you fit the ABS it has to work or it sure won't pass the SVA test.

The plumbing for the brakes when using ABS is mega complicated

The wiring is also fairly complex. I have just spent the last two weeks "trimmimng down" the Bema loom so I can use it in my Sportster - a lot of the wires I removed were for the ABS.

I guess if you use it you are gonna be the first on a Sportster - never good to be first unless you like an even BIGGER challenge

All in my honest opinion of course

Cheers

Robin
